How are these holding up two years later? Heard from two different folks on social media that their replacements failed suddenly (and explosively, apparently). Luckily not while the vehicle was in motion, but it made me nervous about ordering a set. I'd rather stick with the original setup, definitely not doing quad bag setup, but considering alternatives.

I needed a 23 mm stubby wrench to hold back a camshaft while I changed a VVT sprocket on a Honda Accord and the only set I could find at harbor freight that had a 23 mm wrench in it was their surface set and I was actually blown away with the quality and fit and finish of that $60 set of wrenches. It's definitely a forged set and doesn't have that rough sand finish that all of the cheap harbor freight wrenches have. Also for the few times I'd ever need them in my life I think the harbor freight is money well spent which isn't something I usually say about the absolute garbage that comes out of harbor freight.

Thank you for this video. I did have a question. I just bought a 76 Eleganza and only going 4 miles, the rear brakes had locked up and started overheating the rig. I am a novice to these. Parking brake was off. Motor is so strong I did not notice dragging or hear it plus never went over 30. Am I missing some special handshake? Cheers

Could be dry bearings. Could be leaky wheel cylinders. 3 out of my 4 wheel cylinders leaked bad. You need to pull all 4 brake drums regardless and make the system 100%. Dont cut corners.

@@AndrewsGMC Front shocks, as in your video. We do not have quality hardware stores here. Even Ace Hardware does not have knowledgeable employees. So, 5/8 is the bolt size and then the thread number? I appreciate you doing these. I was reluctant to go with these bags because several in the community warned against them for being unreliable. But I really want the original design, so I purchased these and replaced my older aftermarket bags that were installed with brackets that severely limited the range of motion. I installed these with a dual needle pressure gauge to be sure the pressure never exceeded 100 lbs. They worked great for a couple of months with one trip that was just 2 hours away. Then last week BOOOM. One failed while it was just sitting in the driveway with only about 75 lbs of pressure. The company had me mail them the old one before they would replace it. And the did send a new one, but now I have no confidence in this product. I really wish that wasn't the case. I will probably try the 'Sully' bag system next. Many rave about the quad bags, and I may ultimately go that way, but they don't operate the way this suspension was designed to behave.

Thanks!!! It was informational to say the least. Excellent video. I can't wait to find one. The one I looked at hasn't been run in over ten years. Radiator is empty, oil looks like sludge, tires and bags are rotted and I'm sure all the rest of the rubber needs replaced. This looks easy enough.

Is there much benefit performance wise to upgrading the air bags to the quad system or Sullybit system vs keeping it stock?
@AndrewsGMC
@AndrewsGMC 2 жыл бұрын
The stock system was designed and engineered for the motorhomes unique suspension. The ride quality is smoother than quad bag but the quad bag has its dedicated following. I have no regrets using the OEM air bags. My Moms 1978 Royale has quad bags and isnt as smooth over bumps.
