We love our RunDNA Helix to help people analyze their gait in various shoes to figure what’s best for them.

If you told me 3-5 years ago that shoe selection would be a huge benefit for Helix 3D, I would have been shocked. Now, it is a staple!!

will this incorporate use of the helix3D system?
@Adamad333 ай бұрын
The Helix can be used to evaluate walking gait, but the course does not require any specific technology to be used! Here is another video about the Helix kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipu5eGlvadRlhaMsi=ojTaONZr17BoL3xN

How about aging knees/arthritic for knee extension machines. Do you adjust the ROM while loading.
@rundnasystem5 ай бұрын
Hi Brenda! Yes, you can adjust the range of motion for the knee extension machine. If you have pain deep in a squat, you will start the extension in less of a bent position (~60 degrees). If you have history of injuries like ACL you may want to limit how straight the knee goes. 60-30 is generally a safe range if you have pain, but the general rule is to make it painfree. Here is a great video for people who do not have access to a knee extension machine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4PQY2WGrLude7s

I am really eager to try the Kickr treadmill. If they had a testing day here in Las Vegas, I’d be there. I was so tempted to reserve one when it opened up, but my current treadmill isn’t broken yet, so it seemed kind of impulsive to do that. LOL Great interview!

This is a great perspective. Definitely healthier to be fit to run you nailed it with how running does not build muscle in the same way resistance training does nor does it increase bone density the way resistance training does. As a physical therapist primarily working with older athletic individuals, I can tell you firsthand that those that claim to be healthy and state things like I've run 5 me every day since I was 30 or something along those lines, tend to be fairly unhealthy, too thin, week, arthritic. VO2 max is a key component of reducing all cause mortality cause mortality but it should be one slice of the pie with a bigger slice and a pie being resistance training packing on is much muscles as you possibly can because believe me the older you get the harder it is can you put it on in the harder it is to keep it on
@rundnasystem9 ай бұрын
As someone that is squarely in the "Masters Runner" category now I find myself having to do. more and more to stay healthy so that I can get out and run. Totally agree that VO2 is a single piece, although a big one, of our health profile! Thanks for listening!

In the end it's all about endurance ... and the only way to run longer and faster is to put in more milage. You have to run more to run better. Simple, huh??
@rundnasystem9 ай бұрын
Running more mileage is one way to get faster and run farther, but it takes consistency with doing this to really see gains. To achieve consistency, you need a balanced training program that incorporates strength, mobility, nutrition, recovery, and even some cross training. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
