It was a very smooth transition.

I think it’s an interesting way to begin the piece in the minor mode. The place where you introduced the major 3rd seems like a logical place to do so because the melody lends itself to a brighter feeling. To me, the change is smooth because it’s happening in the dominant 5th of the key. I’m rusty on musical terms; it sounds like you began in D Minor, then the change happens in the A or 5th note of the D minor scale. I hope I’m being clear! What you played sounds pretty seamless to me.

I’m an extra piano player at my church and sometimes I play for 15 minutes prior to the worship service beginning, which we call Gather to Worship.
