Her suggestion to meditate stress is a disastrous idea for people not inclined to meditatuve lifestyles. Demand ( gene therapy) access from who ? Presumably not the companies who provide such treatments as they are profit driven and as far as I could see each cost upwards of 1 million dollars.

Those prices will go down with time . The amount of money that living longer will save the government from everyone being in the hospital is vast . And you can always change your lifestyle I meditate daily .

Lookin super hott and talking smart as usual . At this point of my research of molecular biology, I have evolved to the point where I just want to smack the face of a western medicine doctor who would have wanted me to take insulin back in 2021 instead of seeking as you put here in this video "alternative medicine". Ancient herbs activate telomerase enzyme and that's repaired my pancreas to make a long story short. Great speech 👏

Till we reach the aim of super longevity, it would be nice to have at least a cosmetic formulation against baldness. One could sell these cosmetics and spend the money on research and development of super longevity. Isn't that a good idea?

I would like to see more investment and faster progress on this. If we can get some anti aging going before George passes that would be good. George get Jeff Bezos or governments to invest to make it happen much faster

This episode with Dr. @aubrey De Grey was seriously mind-expanding. The concept of longevity escape velocity is both fascinating and a bit mind-boggling-it’s amazing to think we might one day repair and rejuvenate our bodies faster than they age. I really appreciated how Dr. de Grey highlighted not just the science but also the societal and funding challenges we need to address to make radical life extension a reality. The idea that healthspan and lifespan are deeply connected really stuck with me-what’s the point of living longer if it’s not healthy and vibrant? This conversation made me rethink how we approach aging and the possibilities ahead. Can’t wait to see more breakthroughs in this space! #RAADCast #LongevityScience

fascinating conversation! The idea of ‘longevity escape velocity’ really makes you rethink what aging means and what’s actually possible for the future of human health. The connection between biotechnology, epigenetics, and regenerative medicine feels like it’s opening doors we couldn’t have imagined before. James Strole’s vision for a world where aging isn’t a limitation is so compelling-this really challenges how we think about aging and longevity. Excited to see where this conversation goes in future episodes! #RAADCast #SuperLongevity

Life expectancy is life expectancy at birth. You add a few extra years along the way. Also much of the world has a 40 to 65 year life expectancy.
@charlesanthony795419 күн бұрын
There is a real disconnect between his ludricrous statement that the body is a machine and then later stating that simply becoming aware that extended lifespan is possible and expecting that changes the outcome. No machine can do that. It's funny how the majority of life extension "experts" spend so much time sitting and displaying depressed ribcages, bad posture, faulty breathing patterns and no muscle strength or tone. Even Bryan Johnson misses the value of natural light and animal fats and protein for promoting healthspan. Jeff Bowles had mice that beat the longevity record by a wide margin simply by restricting their water intake. Joe Stockinger was still deadlifting 405 lbs. for reps at the age of 90. Dr. Sean O'mara has shown massive health improvements and visceral fat reduction via carnivore diet with vegetable ferments and sprinting. The peer review process caters to the corruption of funding and lowest common denominator thinking. As Tony Ruggia and Dr. Gabrielle Lyon have pointed out, fast twitch muscle fiber recruitment and maintenance and the hormonal impact of staving off sarcopenia via building and keeping muscle mass are the low hanging fruit that evades most, including folks like David Sinclair and Aubrey because they won't do the work it takes to achieve it. They'd rather talk about pie in the sky by and by. How about you have some pullup, pushup and sprint competitions plus creative dance amongst the RAADfest presenters to show what great role models they are for their concepts. Beryl Bender Birch used to tell how people would come to her yoga studio with the stated intention that they wanted to learn to levitate and master the siddhas. She would kindly ask them if they at present could touch their toes. They would then leave in a huff. This typifies the current state of play in the longevity community. Meanwhile, there are people like Monica Shütt exploring the youth sustaining power of stem cells in aged urine and thousands of masters athletes that are training in their backyards and garages and lay researchers who have been using multiple modalities for decades that make the "leading lights" of longevity research look like pretenders.

I also heard Aubrey de Grey say the first person to live to 1,000 has already been born. I assume he first thought 150 and later, as interventions became more promising, he felt the age is now 1,000.
@USAtoElsewhere25 күн бұрын
People have said controlling aging will save so much money that the drug companies will want to sell the interventions, many of which are expected to be drugs and Healthcare, whether govt or private will be able to save so much money. Also people generally want to end cellular aging.

Yeah, and the solution to keep pumping entropy out of a system is a simple concept, too. In other words, in similar fashion that the human body ultimately uses energy from the sun (sun->plants->meat->various sources of calories) to fuel and repair the human body, we can enhance or add to those ways in order for the human body to be more efficient in pumping out entropy. Simple thermodynamics.
@PanchoKnivesForever2 ай бұрын
I’m just glad we have a giant ball out in space that’s not too far from us that is actually a giant fusion energy engine, i.e., our sun, providing us with immense, constant amounts of radiant energy that has allowed for biological systems on earth with the fuel necessary to pump out entropy and to therefore each maintain their own relative order over relative periods of time.

As enthusiastic as we may be about advancements in anti-aging science, I remain skeptical about our ability to achieve longevity escape velocity. At times, I find myself questioning if human intellect alone is sufficient, yet I'm hopeful that AI could accelerate our progress. However, even with AI assistance, success is not assured. As Aubrey de Grey has noted, the likelihood of reaching escape velocity stands at a mere 50 percent.
