There is also a two gallon fuel tank directly over the pilot's knees to be concerned about.

This is such great information. We had a Pitts go down just off the approach end the other day and it was on fire. Pilot got himself out of the airframe on fire. Bystander saw him go down, jumped a chain link fence with barbed wire on top, got to him and put him out after he exited. You can't be too prepared for stuff to happen. Really great video.

Im so happy that people want to maintain these and keep them airworthy. Such a shame though that a fictitious code has been applied to the nose and that the aircraft serial has been positioned in the wrong place especially as its relatively close to where it should be.

I've wonded with this plane is, I helped with the replacement of the air water separate on the base commanders plane I was working on the EC47 line. Sadly the engine had a vaperlock the pilot declared an emergency, the crew chif open the door and jumped out! MInutes later the oil pressure came back up! They flew on to the other base, inspected the engine and found that there was no missing install or leaks. They never found the man I worked with for few hours. I'll never forget that young man, and I hope to see him again Raven out! To all the wounding JOHNS, STAY ON POINT!

Another great video, thank you. I want to mention that most ARFF people are trained to cut through the skin of the aircraft first, and cutting the canopy plexiglass would be a last resort. This is due to the difficulty with the plexiglass melting and slowing the cut down when you use a rescue saw.

The only Ag Cat I have seen in Sweden was the one flown by Pierre Hollænder 30 - 40 years ago, is this the same? Pierre Hollænder, I happened to see his Spirit of St.Louis replica fly over my parents' house in Denmark 20 May 2002, on the 75 years day of Lindbergh's flight from New York to Paris.

Hey, thanks for the demo but you are kidding yourself if you think emergency crews will ever see watch and retain any of this information or procedures on this rare and extremely old antique aircraft. If you are having a bad day, you choices are slim and none. Bend over and kiss your butt goodbye.

Because the round part is extremely strong like an egg, it has been tested before and you would be wasting valuable time trying to break it with an axe. Also there is a human on the other side of the canopy . Thanks for your great question.

Hi Friends excellent video Why does the Jet-Waco turbine tube have that angle and is it not a straight tube like the YAK 110 turbine tube?

The tail and rear half of the fuselage is fabric covered so the thrust has a long tube to prevent heat and fire from burning the fabric surfaces. Why not just replace fabric with surfaces with aluminum? Who knows. That big engine sure adds a lot of weight seems it would be easy to balance the aircraft on the CG.

@@keithwhisman Go back and watch the video again, please, and pay attention to the placement of batteries and fuel tanks as he described. The CG you're worried about has certainly been calculated to a "T". I could go on and on about why certain things are as they are on this plane but the point was to educate recovery teams on how to get the pilot out of the wreckage as simply as possible.

@@williamhudson4938 I was just thinking that if the tail was protected from the jet exhaust using metal it could still be balanced on the cg and the jet engine could be used for maneuvers such as unlimited vertical climb, prop hanging and things like that. Obviously he was able to balance the aircraft as it is obviously flyable. I never suggested the aircraft wasn’t able to be balanced. I was merely elaborating and using my imagination something someone clearly must have to even have the idea of making a jet Waco. I even think a turboprop Waco would be cool.

Thank you for your wonderful video. I was really touched when I saw the A37 Dragonfly again that I had accompanied when I was in the 516th FS from 1973 to March 1975 in Da Nang, VN. Hopefully, I’ll see her in person at the next 2024 Mose Lake Air Show.

Your briefing is very good. Please let the fire and rescue personnel touch and feel the throttle, mixture, fuel shutoff, mag and master switches to get a "feel" and flow in case of an accident.

Crash fire rescue extraction video reads as if there was a crash that caught fire and this is a video of the extraction rescue of the pilot. That's how. "Safety briefing" or "reference" in title would help. Don't think it's intentional but the title is a bit click baity. @@oisiaa
