Oh please religious organizations ask for $$$ weekly even if you leave after "church" services. 😢Organized religion the biggest grift man ever created. Tax the churches and the charlatons will fall.

There are a lot of fake Christians. Jim Jones was one of them. He’s an example of the harm they can do. Bad people hiding behind Christ’s name. Why bother????

There’s a YT channel named STUFF OF LIFE run by professor Preston Jones. No relation. He has interviewed a several members and several military and local Port Kaituma residents present on that horrible day. My favorite is a guy that NEVER gets mentioned named David Parker Wise. He was the head Pastor at the L.A. church. He was not an ordained minister but he knew the scriptures and he was very sincere. He is a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. The things that he speaks of have never been spoken of elsewhere. The L.A. congregation was smaller so there’s not as much info when compared to the San Francisco Church goings on. The guy is VERY eccentric and a brilliant man. He seems to have a humongous heart and endless compassion for others. Professor Jones scored a coup with this guy. I’m going to DM Prof. Jones to ask him to please consider interviewing Ms. Williams and Ms. Wagner-Wilson. Wish me luck.

There are a few other good videos that are more recent than this EXCELLENT documentary. The Clay Cane YT Show has 2 interviews with former members Yulanda Williams and Leslie Wagner-Wilson. Both ladies managed to escape Jonestown, but in very different ways. Yulanda talked him into letting she and her family leave. They are the ONLY ones that were given permission. And Leslie W-W was one of the 8 brave people who walked hours and hours through that unrelenting triple canopy jungle to freedom. Their personal stories are riveting. I just wish the interviews were longer. There was also a fellow JT survivor named Herbert Newell who was on the JT Kudzu trawler boat when the MURDERS happened. Check them out.

This documentary was so sad to see so many people not satisfied with what God gave them. Many were looking for a way out of the social actions of the time. Those depressed are very easy manipulated. Back then depression was bot spoke of. It was deemed taboo. You just had to suffer by yourself.

Just seeing this today, 2024, . Now pay attention to the non religious Scientology. David Miscavige is pure evil. Run for your life if they approach you. Protest are going against them world wide. They own the city of Clearwater,Fl. Tom Cruise is right under Miscavige. He too is very evil. They get tax exempt but they are NOT a church. They are a cult and will destroy you.

I've seen quite a few documentaries about Jones and Jonestown, but not this one. I think one thing this does that the others don't is show exactly how these people got reeled in. Many did and still do judge those who followed Jones, especially those who died in 1978. I've been guilty of doing so myself. We all like to think there's no way we'd have fallen for this. But we have hindsight that those who followed Jones didn't. He was ahead of his time with integration, and used that to his advantage. He knew that Christians should actually be *doing* things to help people, not just praying someone else will help. He knew exactly how to reel people in, and then how to demoralize them with psychological, sexual, and physical abuse. This documentary really underscored that. We want to think we're smarter, stronger, and better than those who followed Jones, but it really could happen to any of us.

The Bible has always warned about false christs, this religious leader was one of the many antichrist that have come to this planet to deceive and to be deceived. The last one will be the worst. Reading , praying, fasting and follow sound doctrine in the right church will help to be away this false doctrine. Only Our Lord Jesuschrist is the only way, the only truth and the life. Just recently found this and now I realise that the resemblance between Jim Jones' cult and Islam is so uncanny. Except Islam creates SO MANY Jonestown Tragedies against those so-called apostates, infidels, and "non-believers".
