Great work, i love your Truck. My grandfather had a 1958 Power Wagon Town wagon when my dad was a teenager. He tells me stories of putting it in 4x4 low and setting the PTO throttle up a bit, and getting out and walking next to it as it crawled up the biggest hills in town that the other trucks couldn't get up. He said it was a command car of some sort in the War. (Nam, I would Imagine?) Such beautiful country where you are, love all the one-lane roads. God Bless.

If the engine is stuck and won't free up is it difficult to find a replacement?
@JDawghasaTruck2 ай бұрын
@@dlucas527 Dodge made a lot of them even for industrial use so you should be able to find something. However it’s always better to have the original if you can. Mine was stuck when I got it. Stuck valves is very common. Patience, penetrating oil, and heat.

Was it difficult to find valves for the wagon? Did you replace them all? How much did they cost? What engine did you get in this one? Is it the original engine? Are the parts readily available for this model? I ask because I hope to find one of these and if the engine is locked I still might get it. I have a 1963 Lincoln Continental and the parts were difficult to acquire so they are really expensive. Also, I like your music.
@JDawghasaTruck2 ай бұрын
@@dlucas527 vintage Power Wagons had the valves although there are probably several sources since Dodge made a lot of these engines. I believe the exhaust valves were changed by the last guy so I just changed the intake valves, I don’t recall how much but not terrible. I replaced three valve seats that were cracked or burned. Chrysler had replaceable exhaust seats. Yes, this was the original 230 engine, checked by serial number. I did my “home” rebuild 6 years ago and it’s still going strong! I could have sent it to a machine shop and I might get 5-10 more horsepower but it’s doing what I want it to do!

@@JDawghasaTruck smart move. I have had terrible luck with machine shops. I try to avoid them whenever possible. Good luck with your project. Yours is a nice looking truck.
