Nice Does the rear bumper and tire swing out carrier at a lot of weight to your , do you like it ? Nice look
@jasonbodi503
@jasonbodi503 4 күн бұрын
The bumper for sure adds weight but it's worth it. The bumper doubles as a tow package and bolts in very sturdy. It looks great and is the only simple way to carry a larger spare tire without killing your cargo area. I love to rear bumper

So, in short, this isn’t a quick practical fix for the novice.
@jasonbodi503
@jasonbodi503 Ай бұрын
@YoungWilliamO for sure. You've got to have a decent OBD2 scanner that can run functional tests and interact with the computer, not just a read only code scanner. The physical work isn't hard at all but you have to have some basic knowledge of the scanner system for sure. I have no formal training on either air suspension systems or OBD2 scanners, only what I've learned and absorbed messing with my own cars and working for/will my dad for a few years

just a heads up that is probably not the original instrument cluster, which means the 55k miles is likely not correct. I am in the process of fixing mine up and it's been fun! Great little truck. Good luck
@jasonbodi503
@jasonbodi503 2 ай бұрын
@005158 what makes you say it's not original? Lady I got the bill of sale from paid in 15 years it never left her farm but to go get gas and she knows the original owner that only drove it locally in their small town and when she got it from the original owner it only had like 45k miles on it

I still have my 1988 Celica GT 3sfe 2.0 I-4 238K miles 3 speed automatic with O/D. Bought it for $450 in 2010. Bought it with 89K miles. I have the Celiac GT-S alltrac 150 Mph speedometer and 9000 RPM tach with the 7000 rpm redline
@jasonbodi503
@jasonbodi503 11 ай бұрын
GTS has the same 150 speedo and I think the redline is 6800. The motor in the GTS internally is identical to the all trac minus the turbo

Haha I would love to find an 86 GT-S in working condition. Kind of similar to you, my Celica GT-S is my second car. I've had it since 2007, thing has been through a lot. I've kind of neglected it due to health issues but I know eventually I'll get it back to where I had it.

Love the car! My first car was a 1987 Celica GT-S (liftback) in red that my dad bought new for himself, and took pristine care of it until he passed it down to me as my first car when I started driving in ‘97. Loved that car so much. I really appreciated your detailed account of its history and how it got to "today." Hope you had a happy birthday and enjoyed that pizza! :)

That biak training center has an underground facility there. The facility is 64000 square feet. Able to house 200 politicians. This has all been declassified. However they have every excuse possible to not give a tour of it, show video or photos of it. Why? Because it has been refurbished and repurposed as a NSA facility. Currently active

Hey man, I have recently acquired a 1986 Toyota celica gts, but white and a lift back. I do have my factory header and exhaust on my car still, I was wondering what your exhaust setup was, and does the car have any crazy rasp to the exhaust? I’m interested in doing an exhaust, but I want to know if it’s worth it.

I did have to warranty my compressor last winter but it was during some nasty freezing rain. I wanted to drive my Expedition to work as it was the most equipped for that but I didn't consider the lines being frozen. About 20min of it running and warming up and I looked out and realized it was just sitting on the rear tires and the compressor was toast. I think it just fried from trying to fill frozen bags or something. A few days later I swapped it out when the ice thawed, ran the recalibration and its been fine since

Its some sort of Snap on one. It was a high end one back when my dad bought it for our old family repair shop. When it closed my brother and I now share all the tools. I don't recall the exact model but it's got a full cabinet with it. Super fancy luckily. It's saved my bacon several times

It was my first car I got for my 17th birthday almost 18 years ago. We paid $700 for it with a bad motor. Imported a JDM motor and Trans that only have 61k on them now. I rebuilt the motor 2 years ago and it's only got 2k miles on the rebuild. I've got several thousand into it over the time I've had it but nothing crazy. I could probably sell it for more that I've actually put into it since I do my own work

My starter problem was always heat soak related. It was more prevalent on warmer days. It especially did the hot start like you said - you are driving around in the city and pull into a gas station. You try to start - a whole lot of nothing burger. I figure the heat from the exhaust and engine just dumps into the starter and the solenoid contacts will not engage. Until they cool off. I also went the expensive route and had custom 4-2-1 headers made with a custom down pipe into the cat underneath. Powder coated inside and out. It helped the hot start vs the old cast iron manifold with its heat shield.

Get in Facebook and search "st162.net" in groups. It's a group of guys dedicated to these cars and parts cars are often tossed for sale or ones being parted out. You have to be diligent. Took me years to find certain parts. I always browse Facebook Market place maybe 2x a month looking for local parts cars and have been lucky a few times. What parts are you looking for?
