I was with you until your trophy point. absolute tosh. a trophy is nothing more than a representation of at that moment i. time you were the best. attach to that whatever else you want. but most attribute it to bragging rights. In a YOY competition you want to be able to brag against others and give your support and time meaning. If you think its so unimportant why did we get to Mikel, if its not that much of standard why are we no longer with Wenger? Come on now. No one said we don't like or appreciate Mikel. BUT a trophy is the whole point of this competition every single year. Thats the whole point of the very game/league/tournament's.

Good stuff! Enjoyed this once. Didn't get to read the whole article but I'll go back and look at it now. Just goes to show you how important it is to have truly smart players at AFC.

I've been watching the Gunners for 53 years now. This is my all time favorite season, after last season was my favorite...and I LOVED the Wenger years....This is now and we are IT!
@samdown5347Күн бұрын
Alex, I've supported Arsenal since you were in nappies and I agree completely. I've enjoyed the title wins and trophies from '89 to '04 and revelled in the glory of the Invincibles, yet all I've wanted all these long hard years since then is to see the Gunners back in the PL conversation - and now here we are, so how can I complain!? This is the best we've played in 20 years, and we're outperforming the level of the squad IMO, so am I sad that we didn't win the league last season, and will I be if we don't do it this year? Well yes, a little bit, but that feeling is completely outweighed by my delight at just seeing the team playing so well and the club having a clear direction - let's remember that we're up against a superhuman manager and his superhuman squad here - and as you say, things are only set to keep improving as long as Mikel remains at the helm!

I rarely care about the top of the top five leagues anymore. I don't care about City winning, PSG winning, bayern (until recently) winning. Those felt like boring and inevitable conclusions. With City turning the PL into a new Bundesliga / Ligue 1, I think it's much more fun to look at the stories for 2nd a below. Eliminate the inevitable first place spot, and focus on the rest of the table, and you get a far more appealing experience with football. Arsenal's rise back to prominence is one story, Luton's tough as nails fights in the bottom half, Brighton and Bournemouth's impressive runs of form at the beginning and end of the season respectively, and everton refusing to get relegated despite its points deductions. Those are the kinds of of stories that ppl who watch football want, so regardless of who wins. Do I want to see Arsenal end City's run of oil-fueled dominance? Absolutely, fuck City. Will it happen? Maybe not, but hey, there's other fun things to look at, and at least this club has a really good story to tell.

What I love about this team is, they don’t look back, don’t repeat the mistakes (how many times have we gotten that towards the end of Wenger’s reign)? I’m sure this team is on an upward trajectory, and yes it’s a matter of time before they start winning trophies.

people forget our targets for this season was not to win the league but to maintain UCL positions (top 4) Arsenal actually challenging for the title is an overachievement !!
@dwaynelamberts36962 күн бұрын
Weak mentality 2nd place is not good enough we must have high standards if we don’t win the premier league this year it will be another year without a trophy it doesn’t matter if you finish 2nd, third of fourth the aim of the game is to win trophys and to win the title last year we bottled a 8 point lead this year we got 1 point from fulham and villa home or away. Its not good enough stop with the excuses if you settle for less become a spurs fan

This only reason I would be fine is that if city’s breaches get charged they might get stripped of they’re title and give it to us.

Next year is our year!! we need someone like Isak, but proud of this team and the coaching staff we’ve come far feels great to see us competing in Europe and challenging the best team in history of premier league citycheaters. Isak would make us scary with our defence attack midfielder I think we be bossing it, isaks runs reminds me of Henry under Mikel he can become a different animal

Whilst I agree with your points, I cannot (Will Not) accept the injustice of our fans being robbed of a PL trophy yet again by a club that is 100% guilty of financial doping. It is not fair, end of.

You wouldn't mind losing then. You are comfortable where we are, no trophies. Our progress is moving from 2nd to 2nd. Since u love Arteta so much, demote him to a welfare or club outreach role and get in a proper manager to get us over the line. I dont know of any top club that hasn't sacked its manager for not winning anything for 4 years. How is this OK? Emery got us to a EL final, Arteta won the FA cup with his squad, yet he was never given time. Arteta layed the foundation to a better squad, ill give him that but we must bring in someone to win us a major trophy. This club shoudn't only be about vibes, we need to win something. We cant keep referencing the invincibles, these current players need their own legacy. Evenetually its not gonna be fun anymore and by the time you lot wake up, it will be too late
@markosviancos12823 күн бұрын
Arteta has spent alot of money to be settling for less.. how can you blow the league twice while u know that the last time you won it was in 2004. Its a disgraceful football club

We are not a GIANT, we are a very big club. Forget other clubs. Our best chance for this club is a long period of high level stability with a few top trophies sprinkled in. That is how we have been set up before. And how we should continue to be set up. Arteta and the board have given us that. He may win 3 trophies in a 10 year tenure, (good but not amazing) but the club will be perfectly set for the next crop of managers and players. That is our sweet spot.

There's a stupid guy called Lee gooner,,, i hate that 🤡 so much...why bother been an Arsenal fan if you banter your team more than rivals
@SirMcAwesome3 күн бұрын
Anyone complaining is just braindead. There is clear progress and improvement every year, and we are competing with what people call 2 of the best managers/teams the PL has ever seen, breaking club records. And the club is doing this even though everyone has said they wouldn't have a chance. So we are exceeding expectations based on what people said we would do, yet still people say we "bottled" it.
