I keep looking at these trying to make a decision on first side by side but that drivetrain whine/noise is the deal breaker for me. Right now i'm thinking new wolverine. They seem pretty quiet in the videos.

I have both, a 99 Lightning (with 03 drivetrain) and my Syclone. Also own a 87 GN. The Syclone is by far quicker and faster than a Lightning.

Yes. Since this video it has a fully forged motor, bigger turbo and injectors, running E85, and a built transmission.

Honestly you wouldn't want a manual in this, unless you had 3 feet. The ability to boost launch and achieve the 4.6sec 0-60 time couldn't be done with a manual IMO. Plus, peak power on these trucks is at around 4600rpms, so it's not like you'd really be ripping through the gears to "let that engine sing". Besides, I'd rather listen to the turbo whistle sweet nothings in my ear.

@@maybelive765 True... just in the case of this truck with the gearing and compression ratio, you wouldn't want it... err at least i wouldn't... not with a 4600rpm red line. If it was like an EVO or WRX with 7-8k+ red line, sure, it'd be fun to rip through the gears, but if i gotta be in 3rd just to hit 60mph, I'd rather have the 700r4. Besides, if you're in LA, getting above 60mph is a luxury hahaha. Anyone commuting in LA with a manual is looking at a knee replacement by the time you hit 30 or tendonitis at minimum hahaha.

Nice find! You are correct in regards to the 87. My all time fave bike and find was an 87 cr500. Yes, even over some of the baddest a$$ Busas on the planet the 1987 Honda CR500R absolutely fave bike!
