A very interesting text to be read. The history of the bells is amazing. The 1950s and 1960s were the boom years for RÜETSCHI of Aarau.

Ich finde es auch schade dass da 1968 bei der Diözesanerhebung die fehlende Glocke von Perner ersetzt wurde. es geht hier rein nur um das nicht so überzeugende Klangspektrum dieser doch eher "gewöhnlichen 0815" Glocke zum historischem Geläute von 1595. Mittlerweile hat man sich ja daran gewöhnt...

Endlich eine Doc umentation über die delikate + an -erkennungs- würdige Arbeit zur Entstehung einer Glocke nötig ist. Dank Bacherts Glocke ngieserei + Ma- gdeburgs Dom gelangte man zu smarter Kenntnis Aufrichtigen Dank Aufnahmeteam!

For your next church, could you do Verl st.Anna, the bells sound incredible and well put together, the class is as follows, h°, cis', d', e', f', a', h'. Its in Germany as well just in case you didn't know where it is, but judging by the fact you did the church of Dortmund, Germany seems very familiar to you but please do it at some point because the bells are truly a chefs kiss!!!!!

Korrektur, in der Schlosskirche in Spiez gibt es auch eine Krypta, welche aber in den 1950er Jahren wieder Originalgetreu Nachgebaut wurde.

Beautiful tower and an awesome clockworks as well! This quartet of Rüetschi bells is charming to listen to even without a large B0 bell which deprives it of a Westminster accord.

To be honest i was not expecting an f', this is the first peal to usually have ges', es', des', b°, ges° but to include an f', thats very odd, is that just to give it more power, or to experiment or is that what the church needed in its bell class selection,

Die St. Galler e° ist ja noch leichtrippiger als die Susanne (8,8 t) im Magdeburger Dom.

...zum 'Über-den-Reif-Läuten' im Mai gibts immer fünf Minuten. 😉 Wenn die b° hier dann mal so richtig in Wallung ist, dann krachts aufm Kirchenvorplatz. Noch nicht so häufig sowas Beeindruckendes erlebt.

Zwar ist der historische Bestand sehr beachtlich (wie oftmals im Rheingau), aber so richtig hats mich bei meiner Aufnahme damals nicht überzeugt. Es patscht halt ziemlich auf dem Kirchenvorplatz und klingt etwas unedel... Kann's nicht anders beschreiben.

Eines meiner Lieblingsgeläute in Baden-Württemberg. Einfach toll 🤗 Interessant find ich hier auch immer wieder das die kleineren Glocken schon von der Qualität her etwas abfallen als andere spätere Schillingglocken. Gerade das zeigt den Anfang von FWS sehr gut find ich :)

Die barocken Baumeister haben es verstanden dem romanischen Münster ein barockes Kleid überzuwerfen! Das Geläut ist sehr vielseitig einsetzbar :^) Sehr schön!

Hier hat mir die a0 deutlich besser gefallen, als die anderen Glocken. Ja da war FWS erst am Anfang.

An incredible history to be read. The night time illuminated view of the church façade and twin towers is striking. The bell peal is utterly beautiful! Much was made of this project in the FWS publicity files at that time (which I have in my personal FWS documents), many of which I was able to obtain from Chanoine Joseph Ringue, a personal friend of Schilling, from the Strasbourg Cathedral.

What history to behold! The photo of the illuminated façade and towers of the church is striking. A longtime waiting for this charming bell peal which was largely publicized in the FWS literature of that era (which I have in my personal archives). The initial years of the FWS reign were superior to many other post-war bellmakers. His greatness however attained his peak at the end of the 1950s. 🙂

Now am i just being dumb or does the h° sound very similar to a b° if you were to test both bells side-by-side, obviously the b° isnt in this installation but would they sound similar or different, because i think the h° sound like a slightly higher b°???🤔🤔🤔

Ich weiß, ich stoße damit einigen sauer auf, aber ich finde es deutlich besser mit dem sachteren Anläuten und Ausläuten der Glocken. Ist allgemein ein sehr schönes Geläut wie ich finde auch wenn ich nicht unbedingt der größte Rüetschi-Fan bin. Schönes Video! Frohes Neues!

A melancholy but superb musical set of medieval bells with a musical dose from the Master FWS himself. Best wishes for the New Year 2025! We may even meet in CH this coming February 19-27. Who knows?
