Thanks for the suggestions. I had never thought of using resistance bands for front kicks. Do you have any advice of bag punching combinations?
@LionheartAcademySGАй бұрын
As in what combinations to use on bags? Best to start with something your coach has taught you, then explore making your own! Before that, get used to doing the simple punches first! Start slow, then speed up! OSU!

That’s not a very satisfying explanation. A more sensible answer is that those movements were not meant be blocks, they were designed as grappling plus some striking. The original kata was created in China 300-500 years ago and passed to Okinawa maybe 2-300 years ago. The essence was lost and misinterpreted in some generation

Most important is to make it work irregardless of grappling, Chin na or striking.

Im wondering how Philippines won this lack of coordination, one of the girls even lost her balance. Even the bunkai is not even so realistic,just a lot of shouting
Super interesting vid, the only small critique i have is that generally in a knife situation, the guy attacking is probably gonna keep the weapon close to himself and charge at you, it's very rare to se one go in a fencing stance and play around doing faints like that. And obviusly he is not gonna chargre and stab once, but multiple timese in repetition. Man... kinfe attacks are the worts. Over all great adive as always, keep up the good work!

Honestly, DK Yoo embarrassed himself. Between spending three quarters of the fight clinching (while his bought and paid for referee conspired with him to wind down the clock in the clinch so he'd survive all six rounds), the referee docking Brad points when DK Yoo tripped over his own feet (so he gave up even trying to work in the clinch and just waited for the referee to take a ridiculously long time to break up), to the lack of punches he threw (and even fewer punches that connected - indeed, he didn't throw a single meaningful punch that actually hurt Brad at all). Not to mention that he insisted on Brad wearing heavily padded sparring gloves while DK Yoo was wearing properly boxing gloves that were half the weight. However, ALL of that could be forgiven. He's not a fighter, and nobody except his cult like following thought he stood a chance. We all knew he was going to be completely outclassed. What isn't forgivable is his conduct after the fight: Making excuses for having lost, uploading heavily edited footage of the fight to make it look like it was competitive when it clearly wasn't, and copyright striking anyone who shows honest, unedited footage of the fight so that he can continue lying to people. He wanted this fight so he could conspire with a corrupt referee to wind down the clock and then have his judges give a split decision (one of them even scored it as a draw; which is not possible for anyone who watched the fight), so he can then upload deceptive footage and wax lyrical about how he got a "split decision" against a former pro fighter and use it to extort money out of people.

@@seraphinaaizen6278 he was clinching and stopping brad! You must not watch the fight
@seraphinaaizen62782 жыл бұрын
@@deroxanlit4181 You're right, he was doing that. But that isn't how you win a boxing match. Indeed, excessive clinching (Which DK Yoo was certainly doing) can and should lead to a fighter getting admonished and, if he ignores those admonishments, can even lead to a disqualification. Especially if the fighter is clinching as a stalling tactic (which, again, DK Yoo was doing). Unfortunately, DK Yoo had a bought and paid for referee who assisted him in running down the clock in the clinch. Perhaps, like DK Yoo, you should look up the rules of boxing?

Hitting with the back of the fist is prohibited in boxing, these are things that Brad was complaining about, e.g. at 3:19 and 16:24
@Rebuswind2 жыл бұрын
This is a publicity stunt from DK team...it is not a conspiracy theory, if you watch the entire pre match press for this..you would know they paint Brad as a "hater just want to gain fame by using DK" they even put IG follower members on their matching post to make sure people know Brad is way less well known than DK. Then DK asked for boxing rule even Brad agreed with any rules. Because DK know Boxing is the easiest one to cheat. if this was a MMA match, Brad could have choked him in the first 20 second and DK would be exposed as the non-fighter he is. In a boxing match, as long as DK was not KOed, he would be looks ok. especially when other guy is bigger and younger. Then DK start to tell Brad that he was injured, so Brad won't hit him in the head, DK also made Brad wear 14 os soft sparring gloves when himself worn 10 os hard gloves. then DK's team found a bias referee, so when DK break the boxing rule, nothing would happen. in the end, the judge also give DK a lot of point for doing nothing. one judge even give a tie to the match, other two's points are also very close to a tie. so people who did not watch the match but just see the result, they would think DK did good. This whole thing is for DK. DK now can say his first real match was against a bigger, younger, UFC fighter and he did not lose much. and people who did not watch this match would believe this BS.
@LionheartAcademySG2 жыл бұрын
absolutely! we really wonder how much gains he and his team reaped out of the whole stunt. OSU!
@peezieforestem50782 жыл бұрын
Regarding clinching in boxing: you're not allowed to hold an opponent while hitting them. Otherwise, you can work from the clinch
