I learned that geography classes in some other countries teach people that Denali & Aconcagua are on the same continent.

I love souvenirs so i got coasters, keychains, coffee mugs and magnets. Though i think in the future i will focus on getting magnets as a collection for souvenirs. It's usually small, easy to pack, easy to find, and cheaper.

Hi. Are the buses handicap accessible?
@travelingwithemma2 жыл бұрын
Some of them are! You’ll need to make a note in your reservation about that, and it’s a good idea to speak to a park ranger when you get there to be clear on which ones are!

i'm surprised you never mentioned the keystone canyon there. it's the most beuaitful part of valdez in my opinion.
@travelingwithemma2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I kind of forgot about it because I had so much fun on the Lulubelle! But the keystone canyon was beautiful to drive through! I wanted to stop at every turn to take a picture!

did the lulu belle not have a consession bar inside where you can get hot drinks and nachos and stuff any more during the trip?

Some really great info! I'll be there in September, at the very end of the bus season. We are still debating...green or tan buses?
@travelingwithemma3 жыл бұрын
Tan buses are more of a tour and you’re guaranteed to hear facts about the park and everything! But I took the green buses (which are cheaper) and was fortunate to get a passionate driver who gave us facts about the park and made sure we stopped for wild life! So I’m my opinion, green was the way to go but it’s up to you! Since with green you’re not guaranteed a knowledgeable driver!

So I lived in Delta Junction for awhile, and my first time visiting Valdez was in the summer late July early Aug I believe, during spawn season. During that time you will see so much wildlife! Otters, Puffins, Bears, Moose, Eagles ect ect. Valdez is truly a gem! The mountains are absolutely beautiful, especially with the waterfalls. Seafood, ugh the best!!!!! Salmon, Halibut, Shrimp ect ect.
@travelingwithemma3 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing! I only got to see a fraction of that since I had limited time there but it was amazing like you described! And you're right the mountains are breathtaking! I long to go back and see it all over again!

Oh oops! Thanks for letting me know! I had a feeling I was going to forget the real pronunciation!
@littlegoobie3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, to town residents and people in the state, it's val-DEEZ. accent on the 2nd syllable. To be historically correct though, i'm pretty sure it's pronounced how you say it since it's a person's name. With that said, just say it wrong and you'll be right. hahaha.
