I would take tiger cat II because it weighs less. But if I was cutting more overgrown rural properties I would buy the grass hopper with that big briggs engine for more torque to easily mow down very tall thick grass,

Have a 900D nothing but problems since purchasing, very poor quality machine. I had a 725D before it a great machine bullet proof for over 2000 hours but I needed the bigger tires on the 900 for wet areas. Low power machine and very undependable been in the shop for over a month while I mow with a30 year old Gravely. The factory support is awful but the dealer finally found the pulley that was machined wrong at factory eating up belts. If you want a Grasshopper buy one of the older ones and stay away from newer models. Sad when a company falls this far in quality.

I have had several zero turns, and between all of my zero turns, garden tractors, and go-karts, I have ran about every engine known to man. The Briggs Vanguard is the best hands down in my opinion. They are rock solid, well balanced, powerful, and reliable. Also, Grasshoppers are nearly impossible to beat. I ran my last one into the ground for 10 years mowing 12 acres a week.... it was a 727k with a Kohler. I beat the heck out of it and it kept coming back for more. Never a problem with it. Now I have the model that is featured in this video (937 with 72" deck). It is a beast!

So you say the Grasshopper beats the Scag? Well put some Kavli blades like Mike from Something 2look at has maybe there will be a difference. May I also add ,not being rude, it's not the mower that cuts the grass that is only the vehicle. The blades do the cutting and yes some mower decks help cut a little better and some don't. I still liked the video with it's comparison.

Dang, what the heck was that super loud squeal? I think you need to call Pathslayer and let them know you've got squeal problems with your setup. Yep, sounds like you don't have enough hydraulic fluid to operate the cutter and the tractor FEL, simultaneously. Very similar if you had low hydraulic fluid and you were trying to do FEL work. Hydraulic fluid flow issue. I'm thinking your tractor hydraulic fluid pump is not enough to power everything simultaneously. Go to either Trail Blazer or Quick Attach and purchase an independent 3 point hydraulic fluid pump system that will pump fluid directly to your front cutter and not interfere with your tractor's existing hydraulic fluid pump system to operate your tractor. Trail Blazer has a hydraulic power pack that cost $1700-ish that will provide approximately 8 gpm fluid to your cutter. The Quick Attach 3 point pump system cost $3,500 to $4,000. This was just my quick observation as a viewer without seeing your set-up. If it's not a hydraulic fluid flow issue, then check that noise out. Thanks for sharing this video and glad I saw Pathslayer's cutter (that noise changed my outlook about a Pathslayer). 👍🏽🙂
@rrlawntractorsport6443
@rrlawntractorsport6443 3 жыл бұрын
It ended up being my tractor, I had a small needle size whole somehow in my cooler which was reducing my fluid and power! Didn’t know that’s what it was until after I made the video! Also, it was a little low Sae 90 fluid in the pathslayer from factory so added more and it worked great! That was only my 2nd or 3rd full time to use I believe!

Jason, make sure that ur machine has the gear sae 90 lubricant in it! They do not put it in the reservoir from factory, or at least mine didn't! Once I filled it didnt squeak as much and has cut a lot better now, as it should! Also, make sure your RPMS are higher on the initial start! Hope this helps! I've had to learn from experience with this machine!

@@rrlawntractorsport6443 Thanks R&R. Will do. We did make sure it had gear lube in it, but not sure if it was 90w. Will check. And find your comment interesting about RPMs, because so far the only way we can engage it without the squeal is very low RPMs and then ramp them up after engagement. But we have not even used it to any extent at all yet. We'll start playing with it and see how it goes. Thanks again.
