Before even *thinking* about getting married, you really need to deeply know yourself, how you approach life, how you react to things and really what you want out of life. Moreover, are you willing and able to make sacrifices and honor commitments? Divorce is *always* going to be an option in marriage for people who fail to come to terms with the above. It is important to remember that marriage is an option. So many people "think" they *need* to get married only to discover that expectations do not equal reality and hence they get divorced. On a personal note, I am 52m never married and no children. As I type this response on a lazy Saturday afternoon in June, I am so appreciative that I am single and have no commitments.

Dear Dr. Peterson, On behalf of well intended, genuine Christians everywhere, I’d like to apologize… if they feel awkward in approaching you and so don’t come across in the very best way. Perhaps you don’t realize that your presence could be intimidating. A true Christian isn’t or shouldn’t necessarily be engaging you, or anyone, from a merely intellectual point of view. Truly, I’m sorry if it seems manipulative, but for Christians, who genuinely believe what the Bible teaches, we want everyone to go to heaven.… And according to the Bible, that’s only going to happen for someone if they have repented of all sin and embraced the fact that Jesus is the only One who can save from hell AND He promised that He’s preparing a wonderful place in heaven for us. That is the simple truth of what the Bible teaches. I have a problem with Christian who are too cowardly to present that to anyone for a fear of being rejected. Becoming a true Christian is not an intellectual decision …this needs to be a heart matter between you and God, Almighty. You can investigate and have all sorts of facts to tell you that Christianity is good and right, but you need to meet Jesus personally and know that you know that you know that He is God. So my encouragement for you is to never mind what anyone has said to you, open your Bible and when you’re alone, pray and cry out to God asking if this is true that you need Jesus to save you. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one gets to the father God except through Me.“ Either that’s true or else Jesus was a liar or some kind of a lunatic. The Bible also says, “If with all your heart you truly seek Him, you shall surely find Him.“ Notice it says if you seek Him with all your heart, not with your mind or your intellect.
