Strong body and a weak mind. That's how we describe each other in rural communities in Northern Canada such as the small rural community Dr. Peterson is from. I too grew up in a small rural community, but in Ontario not in Alberta. I'm 37 now, when I was 25 I too was a heavy smoker who drank morning, noon, and night, as if I didn't move to Toronto to attend university when I turned 18, I would have either gone to work in the coal mines or the pulp and paper mill, as those were the only 2 work options in Blind River, Ontario in the mid 90s. Most of the guys I grew up with were very similar to me and Dr. Peterson, especially at that age, I started to smoke and drink when I was 14, as did most of the guys I grew up with, as we all grew up around people teaching us how to fight, how to smoke, what alcohol and tobacco are basically as soon as we could walk and talk, as that was just the lifestyle of people in rural Canada in towns populated by rough and tumble men, their loyal women, and their callow kids, all rough and tumble and rude. I'm glad I was able to move to the big city to attend university and get a change of scenery in my life because if I didn't, I would be six feet under by now
