That was so thoughtful. I've been in my home for 18 years. My neighbors on the left and right of me are great and were there when I moved in. But I tell you, the people behind me and in every other direction of the neighborhood are so closed off. They don't wave, they don't return my "hello's" when we pass at the community mail boxes. It's all so sad that people are so closed off to other people. How can I make friends with the world going this direction???

There’s something distinctly different about living in a military community where everyone acts like they’ve known you forever because they know what you’re going through, they know you’ve just moved away from friends and family, they know you need a little extra love and support. I just love it 🫶🏼

My mom would make fresh bread all the time when I was a kid, but we would always keep one loaf and give the other away. Now as an adult I truly see the value in gifted bread! :)

When my dad bought his house when i was about 14 a neighbor noticed us moving in and brought over banana bread and talked for a little while. The first and only time ive even had a neighbor talk to me (i have social anxiety so i 100% dont except anyone to even look my directon tbh), my siblings and I were going through some rough times and that littlw act of kindness still lives rent free and makes me smile.

I love sourdough! That is a very thoughtful neighbor. A small gift basket with some jams, mascarpone, soft cheese, etc would be a nice. If you have access to a World Market, it would be reasonably priced.

Im wondering the same thing here. TP companies definitely made out during covid, they intentionally kept the stock low by only making the large packages of TP instead of the 4 packs so there would be plenty for everyone.
