I like that in this fictional RDR3 the gang GROWS as the game progresses, contrasting how the gang slowly falls apart and SHRINKS over the course of RDR2. One signifies a promising beginning, the other signifies the end.

if they wanna make a 3rd game, it's either gonna have to be another prequel, going back to when the gang just started, with hosea and dutch, or make a sequel to the first as a world war 1 game where jack gets drafted

milton cant be in rdr3 outside of a cameo, cause milton meets the gang for the first time in rdr 2 and odds are he only knows details about dutch cause dutch is his at least for half the game his only target and he read about the gang before hunting him, i guess you could argue dutch and milton had a brief meeting but nothing note worthy and nothing close to rdr 2 timeline or at least a few months before rdr 2 story maybe when arthur told dutch about milton or ross in chapter 2 maybe dutch is remembering something about conversation he had with milton or ross when he asks arthur why he didnt take the deal but he doesnt fear either agents at least not much this could change the context of that scene kinda like how rdr 2 changed the context of the final scene of dutch in rdr 1 ), i think milton knew that hosea was his right hand man and wanted to make dutch suffer for refusing to surrender and to get rid of the gang`s next in line leader also i dont think rockstar gonna make rdr3 be a full retelling of what we already know from rdr2, odds are rdr3 will have a lot of returning and new characters, the van der linde gang might not even be a big part of the game and rockstar like to leave stuff to imagination so i doubt we would learn much new about the gang aside from the characters that died in the start of rdr 2 like mac who could be alive and that milton was lying maybe to see if arthur was the fearful type or not , davey and jenny kirk, we could even be part of colms gang and only have a few run ins with the original gang, honestly rdr3 would probably be a headache on the story side of things if its a full dutch gang story from a gameplay perspective and in mystery and in drama at least if we do get it, we could learn something about john`s daughter considering we only know 2 things about her shes john`s and most likely abigail`s child (unless john was with someone who died from maternal reasons witch would be really sad, before meeting abigail and that would explain why theres no mention of his daughter in rdr2 and that the members that knew chose to not speak about it unlikely but possible imo)
