I'm just a guy so I can't be sure, but why not do what almost all other animals do!?!? I have a feeling that the body dumps so many hormones temporarily but in this modern society, it all gets tossed out when the body expects it to be reintroduced. So what do I suggest? Eat the afterbirth. Humans can't be the only ones who aren't meant to eat it...but also so forget about placenta eating....I have a feeling that in 100 years, the afterbirth will be taken in the hospital and turned into an IV bag specialized for each mother that the team will hang for mom before she goes home giving her back all those hormones and chemicals that the body expects to be eaten and reintroduced but instead, we are disgusted by it and cause PPD by going toward our non instinctual culture instead of doing what animals all do.
