People dressed so much nicer back then, even when casually dressed, unlike today the era of torn jeans.

It was Santa’s order catalog, and many toy companies used less flashy packaging for catalog toys to save money, but doing so also provided more proof that these were obviously North Pole manufactured toys, look at the boxes!

(( 🎄 )) I remember as a young child/teenager and waiting for the mial person back in these days to bring us these christmas catalog so, we can look through them and mark them up and let our parents know what we want for Christmas. Oh boy they were so mad that we did this. One of the stores I do miss more than any of them is orr's, unfortunately the store closed in the early nineties sometime. thank you for uploading this on KZbin, this had brought back so many memories.

I got this awesome tower crane for Christmas in 1975 it was the coolest remote controlled toy tower crane. The crane duplicated the exact movements of the real construction tower crane. Looking back at this I'm shocked at the price for this toy. Only $14.00+ and it was made in Japan. Trying to find any of these vintage toys today has been an impossible task. If I do find one in working order I'm sure the price will be in the $100+ range and even higher. My friends think I'm crazy trying to find this toy from my early childhood. I remember the wired remote control with X8 buttons to control the X5 electric motors operating the crane with high precision. You could rotate the crane boom 360', move the carriage in and out from the center, lower and raise the mechanical claw, open and close the claws to grab items and rotate the claw 360'. It was the best toy complementing my LEGO, Ho Scale electric trains, Lincoln Logs, Hot Wheels, and AFX electric slot car racing set. Building cities, moving cargo on and off the electric train set, and building log cabin homes.

I think I might have had the same crane. It was featured in a few of the Sears Wishbooks in the early to mid-1970s. Here is a link to one in the 1973 Sears Wish Book: christmas.musetechnical.com/ShowCatalogPage/1973-Sears-Christmas-Book/0586 You can also find people selling the same crane on sites like Ebay. Here is a link to some of those listings: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=sears+toy+crane

I'm 48 years old, and I'm not going to lie. That Sears Wish Book was THE BOMB! Coming home from school just to find it in the mailbox (or sitting on the doorstep probably because the gosh darn thing wouldn't fit inside the mailbox), looking through it, and marking off my Christmas wishes in it was always so exciting! I tell you; kids today don't have a clue what they're missing! Online shopping just isn't the same as flipping through the pages and checking off the toys you wanted!
