@LostPlaneswalker i think also by using dragon throne of tarkir i could declare attack with my creatures get her trigger. Then on declaration of blockers tap DToT and buff my creatures. Haha

Unfortunately I am not able to play test all the decks I make so I will not be able to tell you that. I build so many commander decks for videos and have little time outside that to play with the decks I have designed. I try to use past play information to inform what cards I add to these new decks to make the best suggestions I can to anyone interested in building these commanders. Before watching: Infect is better for just killing a player outright with a single strike, while Poisonous/Toxic are more relaxed ways of applying the counters. Poisonous/Toxic are really just the same thing with one having more support.

Damn theese upgrade Videos are kinda bad, havent found a good one yet. Enchanters bane is awesome, it is either removal or big damage on each of your turns. Gary is always good. Theater of horror is like Rakdos phyrexian arena, still good enough.

Ob Nixilis will benefit so much from those 1 pings, painful quandary along with waste not also amazing either 5 life or discard a card for my advantage! Loving this tech so far, I've been wanting to run Kaervec the merciless for ages and finally a viable way has come around

Alms collector has a better toughness, so it might stick around longer, but I would rather run Notion Thief to draw off my opponents attempts at card draw. Alms will only work on things that draw multiple cards activation, so it can be played around more easily, and still let's them draw at least one. Notion Thief meanwhile shuts down anything other than their one normal draw and can give you tons of advantage

“Vial Smasher” could be viable if you run enough instant spells or give yourself flash somehow. The ping is whenever you cast your first spell “each” turn. So you can still trigger your commander during an opponent’s turn.

Vial smasher also chooses an opponent at random so he might not trigger valgavoth

I'm far more interested in the Lord of Pain but that just cuz i like commanders that cause a lot of table talk and he seems like he'll give me that experience

I pre ordered this pre con deck snd I am excited to get it so i can upgrade it. I bought three Blame Game precon recently just to get my hands on Smugglers share, ghostly prison, and the Trouble in Pairs cards to put into this deck. I still need to get the other enchantment cards I need plus the artifacts I need and the three talisman mana rocks I need and other creatures I need. Plus sorcerycand Instants I need. It's going to be sick after I'm done upgrading it. Plus I got a foil secret lair of Aminatou the Fat Shifter to put in this deck. I'm so excited, it's going to be awesome 😀😀😀😀😀😀 And on a side note, I will probably build a enchantment Reanimator Deck around the back up commander The Master of Keys.

A friend of mine is running this commander, but he has a totally different gameplan. There are 2 win cons in the deck and one of them is hinging on the plot mechanic. The first is to dish out a poison counter on each opponent, then cast 9 of the plotted cards together with Radstorm to proliferate them. The other is getting out an artifact cannon, purge the library of lands, then deal damage equal to the remaining deck size to one opponent each round. Apparently its his most consistent deck, but it has a weakness against cards that will steal larger amounts of cards from the top of the library, and some RNG challenges. Basically, if 3 early turns goes this deck by and less than 2 or 3 cards get plotted, the game is probably lost. As I have witnessed, this deck is able to consistently win on turn 6

Kinda different style decks that seem like they do the same thing but don’t… ob nix can pop off on your turn with pingers to impulse draw like crazy. Where as val looks to be an attrition based damage strat to make people sweat

They do super similar things, but the end goal is a bit different. Ob is best when you're storming off, casting a tonne of spells and cleaning up with damage. He has to be because if the turn gets back to you your opponents know all the exiled cards you have access to, and what's coming. He's tough to pilot at casual tanles because he's a very obvious threat, and from experience I find myself getting hated out before I can really pop off. He's a better commander because he's that omega level threat. Valgavoth is slower, grindier, and can hit like a truck when ready. The single card draw means that you can fly under the radar a bit more too, and you're not getting you commander hated out because it's a 15/15 with access to 10 exiled cards. The lack of a limit to 1 point of damage is a big thing two, it means I can torbran/solphim/City on Fire my Mana barbs to make the game go quicker if I want to and still trigger Valgavoth. I'm likely going to pull apart Ob Nix for casual tables for that exact reason.

Ojer Axonil is definitely an include as well. It only works with the red sources of noncombat damage, but will still massively up the pain on them.
