I'm glad that Judy didn't end up playing Helen Lawson. I just can't see Judy in this role. Susan Hayward, on the other hand, was perfect for this role. She has the hard edge and voice needed to play a character like Helen Lawson. From what I've heard, Hayward also insisted when she took the part that Judy also still get paid what she would have received as well.

Was Maria Callas remember at the award ceremony? Its hard to make out. Its shocking that stars such as Joan Crawford only got a second. Years of work and thats all they got, a second.

Judy was singular. Hands down the greatest talent of the 20th century. Yes, there are other great singers who deserve recognition, but Judy was very special. She knocks my socks off every time.
