the blades on my SG-220 are so horrid we havent replaced or sharpened them in like 8 years and ive been arguing with the owners over it for the last 6 months. the E tool to cut off the excess doesnt even cut it off. you gotta use a knife to cut it off and then scrape out the shiplap cuts because the blades just push the ductboard not cut it so it leaves behind so much lmao.

@@stevenwood5880 lmaoooo huhhh house rats smfh never seen a tdc flange. At the most they've seen a duct mate flange which is sad. Not at all clowning duct mate tho wen I first started 16 years ago I worked for a company (commercial company almost all rate work which was cool) that had just opened up distant relative who purchased a building where he wanted his shop to be it was basically a glorified pole barn and he had most of the equipment besides a plasma and a tdc machine. He used slip and drive for some stuff and mostly ductmate for all higher pressure duct. Ductmate 25 for anything under 20 inches and duct mate 35 for heavier gage longer duct. As a first year apprentice in the shop I was spending almost 8 hours a day cutting duct mate and building frames and screwing them in lolol and he would always complain how costly it was bc lengths of ductmate are very expensive. I will tell u one thing tho it's an awesome connection and makes ur duct straight as an arrow lol (but much heavier lolol once he finally invested in a TDC machine it saved him tons of money bc it's much cheaper to beat corners in than cutting frames and spending so much time and labor assembling them and screwing them in. The plasma really saved him a lot of money too we had to layout everything by hand the old fashion way commercial duct at that lol. It was cool tho learning the old way but just very time consuming. We made a lot of templates for basic common sizes so we could just trace it lol but it was like learning a whole different aspect of the trade that is really a dying art. I loved it tho laying out duct by hand is deff not that easy and requires precision, experience and skill. Awesome that I mastered it because I make a ton of money on the side fabricating duct for friends I have that own their own small residential companies. I do a lot of fabricating for furnace change out jobs and for new home rough ins. It's much cheaper to buy duct from me then to spend an arm and a leg getting a professional shop to do it or to buy pre fabbed duct everything now a days is ridiculously costly

@@mattsabeast5 The analogy you're looking for is buying plywood at the store or making your own plywood. It costs more to use ductmate than to roll an edge. You're right, it looks like a professional operation yet they're still using ductmate on everything AND cross breaking.

@notjamesiha what I was speaking to was more the b.s that every area will have some inspector with a stick up their ass about doing things one way because it was their way. When there are actually multiple ways to do it based on the national codes.

@@mattsabeast5 No problem bud. I'm a Tin Knocker from Massachusetts and companies around here will have another company make their TDF duct before they'd make a bunch of pieces with ductmate. It's all about time. The quicker you are, the more money you can make. Humans can only move so fast, so you gotta make up for it with machines and new technology.
