It would have been nice to see how you actually made the earring.

That wasn’t the purpose of this particular video but the basic way is to make the earrings in both the wood and the other chosen colour. Cut them in half or however you desire and then match the opposites up. 😊. Hope that helps.

Very cool! I needed some tree-looking texture for a mosaic piece. Thanks so much.

Pretty I like the colors together too. Cernit is my favorite to work with. The Pardo takes Fimo Gel to not be so crumbly frustrating. Find Cernit is the clay I go to most for whatever project. In an earring phase lol

Very nice, no matter where you learned it from.😀 I agree with the comment, I think the harder clay gave the woodlook a more real look. Looking forward to seeing what you put out next. Thanks for sharing. Take care and blessings to you and yours. Sue 😺🙏💙

hi Paula, this video was most helpful. i love the earrings you made and I subscribed and liked, I look forward to years of videos! Just one quick thing...I know you may be new to this KZbin thing but I had to turn my TV up to volume 77... Do you think you could speak a little louder or closer to the mic I know it's hard with all that you have in front of you - just a thought...ty so much for this!

Thanks for the feedback. Very appreciated. I will try to speak louder or purchase an external Mike to the IPad . 😃👍

This was very informative and fun to watch. I could listen to your calm, soothing voice for hours, it's so relaxing. I think the fact that the clay wasn't in perfect condition at the start, seemed to go in your favour, because it's patchiness helped to create the unevenness of wood and that gave it an air of realism, it ended up looking more like real wood and not so much like an imitation made of clay. I know I will use that method for certain. I subbed to your channel today regardless of the fact that you only have two videos out right now. Things will get better hun. Don't quit trying. I really enjoyed your videos, so please.keep making them with these kind of tips. Thank you in advance Paula. God bless you.

It always amazes me how far Bob Wiley’s woodgrain technique has spread! I remember his first demo of it in Houston in the 90’s… it is beautiful.

My sister and I have made it like this since we first used clay late 80s, early 90’s. Not sure where we learnt it.
@gillianwiseman35182 жыл бұрын
@@paulafarley3156 I'm pretty sure that several people have come across the technique over the years... your method is just so close to Bob's that I had to mention him. Not trying to say you copied!

I saw similar technique on Turtle soup beads channel. Susan made different coloured flower clayshit. I think you should keep the clay little bit more thicker. It will be helpful to handle the clay. After cutting and pasting the clay will become thinner. Thank you so much for sharing a nice tutorial.

Thanks for the feedback. I am happy working with the clay as I had it but I agree, it may be helpful for others. Totally their choice as I said in the tutorial. 😊

I'm brand new to polymer clay, and had an idea that was basically this technique. I haven't tried it yet, and I just stumbled on your video. Good to know the burnishing part, I wouldn't have thought to do that! Thanks for sharing, those earrings are so pretty!
