Looks great! For me, this was the worse part of the process. The varnishing itself is not so difficult and a coat goes on quickly , but at this end stage the waiting was unbearable .So close to finished, but held hostage to the drying and hardening time of the varnish.

Thanks. I agree, it's a lot of hurry up and wait.

The 'sawhorses' really did collapse but the umbrella incident is a joke BTW. I actually used the old torn up umbrella that the new one had just replaced. 😅

i like your sawhorses! Can you give us some specs about the build? Length, width, ply thickness ,etc... it's looking great!
@BetterOutThanIn2 ай бұрын
Thanks! This kayak is 17' long with a 23" beam. The ply is 4mm Okoume and Sapele. 4 oz cloth and 6 oz tape on seams. I designed this boat back in 2016. I actually cut 2 kayaks at the CNC shop back then but this one sat unbuilt for all that time. Finally getting to it now. It's brother is the thumbnail and can be seen hanging on the wall in the background.

I’m from eastern NC been loving your videos. I probably watched your browns creek video 15 times. The full pull when you were following that guy with the carbon bike to get an idea of the layout before I went a few weeks ago. Still ended up lost haha. But it did help me out regardless.

Awesome! Glad to hear that! I got so lost the first time I went. Probably why I started making the maps in the first place. Thanks for the feedback.

@@BetterOutThanInman when I went over the bridge and saw that first climb on welcome to browns creek, I wasn’t ready for it. It had also rained the night before so every berm I felt like Ice. Ended up making it out of there in one piece tho. I stoped by big branch on the way home and had a blast. Have you ever rode that trail ? It’s in Jacksonville

I used to ride it all the time on my Giant Trance then got injured at work (shoulder)… That trail is a good gut check with a couple of rewarding drops. I’m gonna ease back into mtbiking it again with my class 1 emtb as soon as we get a break in the weather.

That looks like a good design for a straight-tracking kayak without too much overhang. It would be useful to see the design software as a basic tutorial. I am currently waiting on a response as to it would be possible to build a plumb bow and stern kayak / surfski hybrid using this software. It is a shame there is not a free test trial. Otherwise $100 could be spent to find that it does not work for the intended design
@Selkian9 ай бұрын
Does this software allow you to create any design kayak? or is it a matter of tweaking the in-house model? I fancy designing a stable touring surfski hybrid.
