I spent all day trying to get it to work using my Samsung mobile phone and what did work in the end, was using the ShinePhone app on my ipad. It went without any problems at all.

This is a "missing manual". Unfortunately I received a faulty Shine WiFi dongle. With the help of this video I could prove it. Now I need to follow up with Growatt to get good dongle!! It is just out of box, so I expect it should be straight forward process.

It took me two days of resetting and trying again and again and again until finally it just decided to work. These devices are absolute rubbish when it comes to getting them on-line! For those asking about an installer code...this seems to be a UK account requirement? I just created a new account, and chose France as my home country. When it came to adding the datalogger, I chose the UK as the plant country. I could never get to the local datalogger web page as in step 2. Not sure if they've pulled that functionality? In the end...here's what worked for me: Reset device (long press of the button - MUST wait for the flashing red light). Tried the 2.4ghz method first. It failed. Next try the hotspot mode (had to short press the button to enter into hotspot mode again - blue LED)...bingo. I have no idea if that combination is what did it...but probably by fluke it worked. It does only work on 2.4ghz radios though. Most routers will be 2.4 and 5ghz combined so you shouldn't need to add a dedicated radio.

doesnt help me, problem is my dongle's light is flashing all 3 lights at the same time and it doesnt reset to any one single light, tried pulling and inserting it multiple times. it just doesnt connect at configuration step and says configuration failed (sentence below the diagram or animation is router connection failed)

and right at the beginning my dongle is not flashing red. it is stable blue. this system is so terrible.

To everyone with installer code problem. I struggled with installer code for two months since my electrician didn't have installer code and didn't get it. Finally I understood to change the land to Albania and then it didn't ask the installer code as compulsory. After you successfully register it you can choose your own country and time zone and address so it is not a problem that you have chosen firstly wrong country. Finally it works!!! 😊

Total bullshit. It does not work without installer code, which nobody knows, and that's the catch, it doesn't work. Did you question yourself how a dongle that costs 100 bucks for Daikin costs 5 for Growatt? I didn't....Even if you try to make OSS account, the name of account will be given automatically, hhahahaahahah, and of course you will not know it, and nobody never ever will answer your emails.... Stay away from this stupid chinese product. It's total junk. Documentation nothing, the manual is useless, no online support, no support at all. I guess you have to write the emails in chinese to get an answer. Just buy Fronius. Or Victron Energy. Or whatever non chinese product.

OMG... the only thing which is the MOST important info... is what is the Password for the WIFI signal from the dongle???? I can see in the video a Lock Icon, but in your rush to make this video you had already typed it in and NO WHERE in the instructions does it tell you the Password for the WIFI from the dongle. How many message or phone calls does Growatt get about this pretty simple instructions would be helpful!

Hey Shawn. Great and helpful video! Well done. We have one of the Growatt inverters that we’re using purely for uninterrupted power with the main power grid. No photovoltaic input. Can we still use this Wi-Fi monitoring method just to have some means of remote monitoring and notifications if the mains fail and battery power is low? We run a small medical facility during daylight only and have very unreliable power that can be off for a few days at a time
