8:55 - "a 20 pound ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher" - a liquid ABC rated (not just a foam but improved, with liquified flame retardants) would suit better as (unlike powder) it flushes nearly all the surfaces under your bonnet, for instance. This is especially important if you have a car as it your extinguisher is portable and rather small.

8:55 - "a 20 pound ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher" - this is why do I keep no lesser CO2 filled one in my flat and in the lab at work (all premises are ventilated). You need it as large and heavy as you can carry - or otherwise likely yield your house to the fire and then try to deal with the insurance company whilst being homeless. 1) a couch made of cheap fabrics after 1 minute burning or a Christmas tree 1/4-1/2 minute after ignition would require no less to put down 2) all nearby fire spots could be beaten down in split second in the process of extinguishing 3) whatever that reignites has a good remainder of CO2 still in the extinguisher to be dealt by + another person gets some time to pour water to embers 4) you could treat live electrical equipment first (to clear the way to its plug) and switch it off a little bit later 5) it is cheap and quickly refillable 6) you can check it just by weighting it 7) it does not contaminate or damage anything 8) it deals well with small amount of flammable liquids as well.

This video was filmed in 2003, and look how many employees are still with us 15 years later! Steve Kasper/Banquets, Micha Heck/Housekeeping, Michael St. John/Executive Chef, Rick Brady/Maintenance, and of course Tyler Desmond is now our General Manager. We hope you enjoy this quick throwback as much as we did.
