Sure but can I regularly rev it past 7000 rpm?
@janfswedane2 күн бұрын
@dloneyv8 Buicks are known for their torque... They can be built to do it, but its expensive... So in your application the 400 SBC may work better, also if you allready have the engine... I am a lifelong diehard GS Buick owner so you can probably guess my feelings towards a Chevy engine in a Buick....

Wish that you were on FaceBook. I use to have a beautiful 1964 Special with 462 and 2 x 4 intake, nice cam, all of the goodies, turbo 400 with a 12 bolt and 3.73 gear. With the exception of the Cragar SS wheels, I tried to build the car as if it came from the factory with the combo. Was an ultra nice car. Yours makes me with that I had it back.

There was a Skylark in the 60s that had the 401 cu in. engine in it. It was the Buick nailhead engine. It might have been called the Wildcat 445. The title was the torque rating.

@josephmarino30459 сағат бұрын
@@charleshogan the Wildcat 445 is what's called a nail head engine. It had very small diameter valves. Which gave it a lot of low-end torque and not a lot of high RPM. It wasn't needed in the applications. However a real Tire burner! My uncle had a 66 Electra. That was the largest Buick sedan. Plenty of low end grunt and a very melodious dual exhaust sound! Cars with stock dual exhaust systems in the olden days... Had a very distinct and pleasant sound. There are not too many cars that have dual exhaust. The ones that do are excessively loud and you can't enjoy the sound. They just sound like a bunch of elephants blowing their trumpets.
