How hard you going to push it ..I had a 70 / 4 bolt / 400 built it for rock crawling started with original block crank heads studs for heads and crank, vintage torquer 2 single plane intake , flat tops and rods kit melling oil pump 6qt pan , split profile 268 cam /400 ,lift , rhodes lifters two stage , double roller rockers ,double springs , 090 head gasket so it stays at 10.5 compression hardened seats for gasohol,40 lb flywheel and 11 " tri power clutch from 67 corvett big block ....drive shafts and rear axel must be swapted in to last .. oh if you're be sneaky 5 spd serious box and an old Munce stick and 4 spd gm knob at 120 and go into 5th its AMF time ....

@dloneyv8 Buicks are known for their torque... They can be built to do it, but its expensive... So in your application the 400 SBC may work better, also if you allready have the engine... I am a lifelong diehard GS Buick owner so you can probably guess my feelings towards a Chevy engine in a Buick....

Wish that you were on FaceBook. I use to have a beautiful 1964 Special with 462 and 2 x 4 intake, nice cam, all of the goodies, turbo 400 with a 12 bolt and 3.73 gear. With the exception of the Cragar SS wheels, I tried to build the car as if it came from the factory with the combo. Was an ultra nice car. Yours makes me with that I had it back.

@@charleshogan the Wildcat 445 is what's called a nail head engine. It had very small diameter valves. Which gave it a lot of low-end torque and not a lot of high RPM. It wasn't needed in the applications. However a real Tire burner! My uncle had a 66 Electra. That was the largest Buick sedan. Plenty of low end grunt and a very melodious dual exhaust sound! Cars with stock dual exhaust systems in the olden days... Had a very distinct and pleasant sound. There are not too many cars that have dual exhaust. The ones that do are excessively loud and you can't enjoy the sound. They just sound like a bunch of elephants blowing their trumpets.
