Some Nigeria authors don't encourage learning physics Can you believe some authors multiply the mass given on the metric rule by the perpendicular distance and call it moment of a force, instead of getting the weight before finally multiplying it. This is the mistake that weakens the most.

Kelly, I think you are referring to " finding the moment" since the forces are already in their standard units as newton( N). To find the moment: force× distance ( multiply, don't add )

Thanks for the technique but ur answer is super wrong it is mathematically wrong for one to add 0.35a+10 it can not happen, u can not add goats and chickens and say u have goats the answer is supposed to be 0.5N

Please if the weight, which is 50N was considered when we were considering the clockwise forces, why wasn't it considered again when calculating for the anti-clockwise forces? I'm confused.

Because, the forces in the clockwise direction are not the same forces to be considered in the anticlockwise direction about the moment of the same point.

Welcome Charles, the F2 answer there is incorrect. The 10 on the righthand side should have moved to the left and the 0.35F2 left free b4 we divide through by 0.35. With that, the F2 value would have compensated for the sum of the upward forces. I corrected this in one of the comments below. Thanks for the alert.
