The intro to Women In Love wasn't just natural harmonics or even artificial harmonics but they had been officially named "tap on harmonics" sometime in the early to mid eighties I believe by Cherry Lane Music who published Guitar For The Practicing Musician magazine.

It sounds like Ed enjoyed teaching guitar. Probably your enthusiasm fueled it as well.😁👍 What an awesome life experience.. ❤

Listening to this, I'm still amazed at Edward's sense of touch. It really feels like the guitar and his soul were interconnected. Most of this audio proves that Edward's touch was golden ( especially the totally clean picking parts ). You can tell that the tone of his guitar playing was centralized from his touch. The man could plug into any amp and, more than likely, still sound like Edward Van Halen. Great video ( and audio! ).

Those had to be some great times Steve for sure. Not many can say they sat around and just talked and played guitar with Ed.

When I play my guitar I play it like I'm the one singing I let my fingers sing the words but not my mouth so when I when I play the guitar it basically I run my fingers through the strings like it's kind of freaking each letter of it and just spell just say the word I don't know how to explain it

Well if you put on a song and let me and cam with it with you guys doing what you're doing now you understand what is being done without having any other questions that's one thing I can do but to let you know that if you want to be done if you like what I'm doing if you want to pursue anything with me that would be great if not I understand but I can make it easy

I'm not trying to get anything out of it but if there is anything to be done about I just want to be basically just making sure you guys are happy with what has been done and other than that I'm good I might not have a lot of things in life but I do have my self-respect and taking something for somebody when it was a total accident would be a piece of s*** and I am not a piece of s*** so I hope everything works out

I started with BB King and I went down to Stevie Ray Vaughan and then I was playing in Texas flood and the next thing you know everybody wanted to review it and then all of a sudden Van Halen came on and I started playing along with them not thinking it was good of affected anything but I really started affecting a lot so I'm confused as much as anybody else but I'm more than happy to demonstrate what you need to be need to show and it happened

In Steve’s 1996 interview with Edward called ‘Eruptions’ wasn’t this song here a source of an argument about opening lyrics for it between Edward and Glen Ballard on one side and Sammy on the other ? ….Didn’t Edward say to Sammy -‘Sam, Glen has got some great lyrics going here ,,just try to go with them.’ A Dark Side of the Moon type vibe which went -‘ I want to touch your soul and get to know you’ ….‘But Sammy wanted to change the lyric to daft sh*t like’ - ‘I CAN’T SEE YOUR DIAMOND RING THROUGH YOUR SHINING STAR’ 🤔😖…Apparently Ed said -‘Sammy, these lyrics are as daft as ‘WHAM,BAM AMSTERDAM’ …Just follow Glen’s ideas. And Sammy got angry and said -‘I’m off to Hawaii, bugger this crap. I have a plane to catch’ …And Sammy walked out of 5150 studios feeling very angry…. I seem to remember in Steve’s interview something like that. This was in 1996 around the time of the Twister film soundtrack …That was when the great ‘Van Hagar’ era came to an end. (Paul)

I think the instrumental version Alex has released is BEAUTIFUL actually…..It doesn’t need lyrics over it of any kind obscuring the wonderful interplay between Ed and Alex. (Paul)

Sorry this isn’t a big deal. I think it’s sad Alex releases something from 20 years ago? He and Ed didn’t do anything on tape in the last decade worthy of release. Also, Alex’s book was void of anything any die hard fan hadn’t heard before, 200 pages a pretty pathetic effort.

Pretty sure I read an interview with Sammy where he stated that there's a version of Between Us Two with his vocals. I also remember an old interview with Sammy where he said Bruce Fairbairn was insisting on getting a writing credit for the song, which resulted in Eddie firing him. Sammy said it was the last major decision he and Eddie agreed on.
