Did you upgrade to a 24v trolling motor setup ? With this boat.

@MarkBlackstock ok talk to minn kota they said best bet was to stay with 12v stepup go to 55lb terrova and get a helix 7 g4n that be the best bang out my buck. I have a 17.5 alumacraft with 75hp and seems the 45lb edge just wasn't enough only on 5. Also will have to buy a live sweep to mount to the terrova for my active live system. But scared going to a 12v 55lb won't be enough. But Minn kota said if I go up to 24v 80lb be to mich for that boat and in spot lock would be throwing me all over the place. Just trying to get a idea of what ppl are running on the smaller bass boats like ours
@MarkBlackstock13 күн бұрын
@@jessehughes3741 lots of folks did a 80lb 24v on my boat. No issues as far as to much power for the boat.
@jessehughes374113 күн бұрын
What size boat you running then and was that a 12v 55lb setup ?
How to start with a dead battery.. But, WAIT! You have to put the prop in the water with the electric button.. I know I know it was for educational purposes only

Thanks for the video man . Never thought about it but yeah it's easy enough to put a safety chain back up on there so I think I'll add one to my boat

I have the terrova i lpilot link us2- it comes with a built in transducer! What do i have to do to connect a 93sv uhd to use the terrovas transducer?
@MarkBlackstockАй бұрын
Buy an adapter by Minn kota. You will only get 2d sonar however

What's the biggest bag you think it could support ? Im running the same setup, but it takes 20 lbs to win most of the local tournaments. Im worried if i ever get a bag like that, it won't support it.
@MarkBlackstockАй бұрын
That is pushing it to the limit imo.
@oregonsmalljaw3732Ай бұрын
@MarkBlackstock thats why I was curious how much weight have you comfortably fit in there ? I feel like putting 12 pounds in there is pushing it.

Damn! that's a simple reminder to respect treble hooks. I try to always land those on the deck till they stop squirming. Or use the net.

Was looking forward to this video Mark! It happens- it happened to me this spring at Parker with a jerkbait. That shit HURTS!!! The barb was all the way in but not as bad as yours. My wife was my HERO that day...I just couldn't manage to yank the hook with the line....Ha!!!
@jamesbarron1202Ай бұрын
Ever thought about mashing your barbs down on your practice day baits and only using barbed during tournaments? There’s a KZbin vid of Doug Hannon (The Bass Professor) where he claims you’ll land more bass on a barbless hook which I don’t believe. I’ve only buried the barb once in over 50 years of fishing and I guided. That was on a Heddon Torpedo when I was about 12 years old and that bass put one hook in my thumb and the other in my index finger. Catfish on the other hand have stuck me many times and they have a protein in their fins that cause a lot of bleeding and pain. Bad deal getting hooked with a bass still hooked and flouncing and your by yourself trying to get it off the hook one handed.
@MarkBlackstockАй бұрын
Not a horrible idea to crimp the barbs down.

That sucks...I did that last summer,the hook went under the skin where the finger nail is and I drove my boat to the marina and got help at a boat shop..it hurt like hell but we got it out...I am VERY carefull now and aware of what I am doing with a lure.😅

……if you run stuff over and the prop doesn’t five any……your shaft, seals, and gear box get the brunt of it……..
