Yes 1,3 and 6 are my personal favorite. one having a special place in my heart due to it being the first one I ever viewed as a child So nostalgic now that you mention the return, I'm going to see what's to that I tried to watch it. Don't know if I fell asleep or just wasn't interested but I will pick up again and see what I miss

The OG Friday is more of a slower paced murder mystery flick compared to the others that are more or less straightforward slasher films with an iconic killer. I think younger and more modern generations will prefer the sequels over Part 1 as it's a different style of slasher and lacks the faster pace of the sequels styled more like a 70s horror.

Checkout the Sleepsway Camp series if you haven't already. That ending at end will shock you. There is another movie called Return to Sleepaway Camp. Ignore that one at all costs.

Easily the worst of the big 3 (4?) horror icon series. IMO, unlike the other big horror icons, this one is actually not about just Leatherface but about the entire family which makes it unique and even more difficult to get right as can be seen with the fact that they only got it right 4 times (original 2 and the Michael Bay produced remake and prequel). Such a shame that this series is now basically a direct-to-dvd/streaming series.

Being an old head, please see my rankings thru the eyes of a 9-12 y/o child, watching all these movies in theaters and embracing all the noments with my friends( I spkeak for many people in this ranking)........ 1. Toy Story 2 2. Toy Story 3. Toy Story 3 4. Toy Story 4 5. DNF(did no finish) Understand, the first 2 toy story movies were God Tier at that time and i rewatched them more times than my vhs tape can handle. Great times! Toy Story 3 is God Tier too imo btw

"Spoiler" Warning: they are all terrible, every single one, except for the ones Tobe Hooper directed. So. 7 bad films. 2 good ones. And... this is coming from someone who thinks there is only 1 bad _Child's Play_ film. (Not the one you're thinking. Not _Seed of Chucky_ or the remake. Not _Child's Play 3_ and not _Bride of Chucky._ Keep guessing.)

And it has by far one of the worst death scenes in horror history. And it does Not involve a secret Nanny affair subplot. Does not involve that. Oh... and it does NOT feature any of the cast of _Grease_ in it. No cast members from _Grease_ co-star in it.

I’m gonna be one of those guys. I looove the next generation! It’s meant to be a spoof-esque remake of the original. Almost like a cabin in the woods type plot… It has whacky characters and a great lengthy chase scene! Plus, it’s the only other TCM film aside from the original where Leatherface actually portrays the persona of whatever face he’s wearing. You have to like stupid, campy, low budget films to enjoy it, but I think it gets far too much hate because it’s compared to all of the other, darker versions.

Although kills get a lot praise & people act like it’s top 3… it’s horrible outside of the fun parts. Like u said characters are stupid idiots who’s brains doesn’t work & if anything it’s more so a guilty pleasure because Michael is badass but it’s also crazy that the 07 rob zombie version doesn’t get the same love since Michael is also badass & menacing like kills & it’s a waaaay better movie than kills I’ll tell u that😂. The trilogy was eh but ends debunked all of that & made me hate the entire reboot trilogy idc. I rather watch 1978, part 2 & h20 & get my satisfaction despite me not really liking them ( gotta soft spot for H20😭 btw)

Just picked up the OG and Next Gen to finish off the franchise in my collection. I really don't have any of them I dislike n(well unless including the NetF one which is an abomination and doesn't exist to me...lol), Next Gen is so over the top but I watch it specifically for that so still enjoy it. I'm not as hyped for the OG as most but still love it. Don't know why none of them really bother me but I enjoy each one for what it is. Would be very hard for me to tier them, I may could rank them 1-9 but they'd all land in "good time" for me.

Jason lives is a solid watch but damn, if only Jason could have had the decomposed rotting look from part 7 once he is zapped back to life. From how shit he looks as Tommy is thrusting that rod thru his remains to when he climbs out lol. I know, just go with it but damn...

Awesome tier list. Remember seeing part 3 in the theater with the cardboard glasses and it worked so well. My blu ray of 3 came with 3d version and with those cheap glasses its unwatchable. Any idea of the Scream factory boxset version? Good to see some love for part 5 as well.

@@WarrenLarby the scream factory version has the real 3d version but I don't have a 3d tv to try it lol. I do own the dvd with the cardboard glasses which I watched a few times in the past, it works enough but gives you a headache part way through. Thanks for watching!

You lost me when you put 2 and 3 over 5. Today now out of bed and not training, with years of injuries would skull drag Jason from 2 and 3. He totally was not intimidating at all in those 2 movies.

Growing up I did not like the Friday the 13th series. Now I def appreciate it. Michael Myers is my favorite of the big 3 but I prefer the Friday the 13th movies. The highs in the Halloween series are much much higher but I love the “so bad it’s good” charm of Friday the 13th. The only movie I outlike don’t like is Manhattan.

Friday the 13th is meant to be a B movie popcorn slasher series similar to the Fast and the Furious franchise which are popcorn B movie action flicks. Halloween at least the OG one tries to be more then that it wants to rely on atmosphere and mood but because that franchise tries to be higher caliber more is expected from the installments. So when Halloween has a really bad sequel it hurts a lot worse then if Friday does because even the weakest Jason films have some form of basic entertainment value while the worst Halloween films don't really have that. Jason Takes Manhattan and A New Beginning are easier watches to me than say Rob Zombies H2 or Halloween 5 or Resurrection or even the theatrical cut of Halloween 6.

@@themovieranker Now that I think about it...I would change another thing. And before I do, I just want to say parts 3, 4 and 6 are by far my favorites......in fact I'll watch all of these if they're randomly on tv (ehh probably not JGTH) But I don't think part 6 should be grouped with part 4 in top tier. The goofiness/slackstick tone, breaking the 4th wall at times, it knocks it down one for me. It's a fantastic movie, but part 4 is EVERYTHING a perfect Friday the 13th movie should be. Part 4 is in a league of its own, and reins supreme by itself in Top Tier... Everything else would stay the same (except the changes I said in my original comment)

I love Deep Blue Sea - possibly 2nd to Jaws. I thought part 2 was fine, but I've forgotten mostly everything about it, and wasn't encouraged to see 3. After this video, I might give it a go ... if it's feee 😉

I like 1-7, with IV as my current favourite. V has aged better - especially with Scream introducing the idea of rotating killers. Also, foul mouthed Ethel is my favourite side character, and I prefer broody-moody Tommy Jarvis to part VI (all 3 Tommy Jarvis versions seem like very different characters). 3D and VI are my least favourite, but 3 introduces the hockey mask and has its moments. VI: too much of a tonal shift for me, but I think Kevin Williamson said it inspired Scream, Beyond the 7th movie: maybe I need to rewatch with lowered expectations, but for now I'll stick with the original seven. Great job with this video! If you haven't ranked Scream yet, that's my favourite franchise.

Actually, it's not a bad ranking list for once compared to some of the other reviewers i've seen. You were pretty spot on with most of them (except i'd put part 2 in s tier. I think i'd flip flop 2 and 6 with each other and put part 6 in great flick category but i've always had a soft spot for part 2 and part 6 was fun but it came off like more of a horror-comedy at times and didn't always feel like a pure horror movie to me, and i would put part 9 in pure garbage, but that's just my opinion. I think i would also flip flop 3 and 1 where you had them. Other than that... pretty good list!!👍)
