I am using your pipline with aces + cryptomatte and i dont know why my rendering is so slow. I have 2560х1440 5 sec sequence and after color grading my sky and couple of trees with cryptomatte Davinci rendering it for about 2 hours. My exr sequence on ssd and my graphic card is 3090. Hope for your advice

Love the videos. I'm a newbie and I'm confused about the HDRI backgrounds - no matter which way you do them. I've been using the HDRI backdrop and found that the environment wasn't picking up the reflections - so i went into the sky object under the HDRI backdrop plugin and inserted the HDRI image into that as well. The default was blank - and seemed to be emitting only white in the reflections. Once i replaced that- the reflections seemed to be accurate in the scene. If that makes sense. But every video you've done- you don't do that. Do you just insert the HDR image in the top level of the HDRI backdrop object and that's it? Also how would you just replace the background with an HDR and NOT have it affect the scene - its basically jsut a background image. THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT WORK.

Wow that's great :) This effect totally reminds me of like Half Life 2 Dr Breen screen when you first get out of the train :) Will be great if it could also be a camera feed!

everytime I save or atosave, my parented camera detach itself and snap to the ground level. It also happens when I hit render. can anyone help me?
@JonJagsNee4 күн бұрын
If that happens to you, go your camera in your level sequencer and in the + menu (for your camera) and add an attach modifier, then attach it to the null 😊
@theendisnear23984 күн бұрын
@@JonJagsNee yes it works! I also find that in the attach menu, theres attach options so I check preserve current. Thanks!

At 5min20, if you want pure white, you can set the value at 2,55 instead of 1. So you don´t have to mess up your exposure with the PPV. I suppose they will fix this in the next versions

Thanks man! As to my knowledge you're the first one talking about media plate in motion design mode. I was looking for that, cause I wanna create AE like stuff in UE.

how can we not have a simple pixel conversion!!?? like just type in the resolution you want instead of milimeters. what artist uses mm for resolutions?? wow they need to change this asap imo

I really like your style of presentation. Animating the null actor wasn't something I had thought about. Gives a lot more control to the presentation. Follow-up tutorial idea: How to create the "Most Awesome Speed Ramps" (for the algorithm 😁,) moving the null actor from point of interest to point of interest, having the camera circling around the car on a dolly rail. Speed ramp - slow mo - speed ramp - slow mo, etc. Like we know from product advertisements. Probably something with the sequencer curve editor, Bezier curves and a bit of trial and error. Or maybe there is some easier and more elegant way of doing it? 😎

Great tips. Ive been raytracing a glass cylinder and having problems with reflections. As the camera moves in a light reflection appears but as it gradually appears, it flickers a lot and there is some shaking of the reflections with camera movement. Is there a way to reduce this?

These tutorials are great, but i can't seem to get the displacement to work. I have tried with a fresh file and with an existing file. When I go to displace the default Perlin Noise works as intended, but as soon as I switch to Texture2D and load the ORDp (Blue Channel) file no matter how high I set the Displacement intensity the entire plane drops but no more micro displacements on the plane. Is there another setting that needs to be turned on? I have played with the number of triangles, makes no difference. Thanks.

stupid.. why doing the close clipping and not the far one
@samuelenslin185010 күн бұрын
I´ll have to try this, but I think there is more to it. I haven´t even touched motion design and I have also gotten this error. As far as I´ve been told, it just happens when ANY shader in your level has compilation errors. So, you might not even SEE it in the scene, sometimes it only compiles with errors when you render or its hidden or something, either way, I found the compilation error in one of my own shaders and after that it rendered fine. I´m not sure if its actually a RED compilation error, maybe one of the yellow warnings is enough to trigger this, like, when you put a texture that is interpreted as "mask" into a slot that is set to "color" or something like that. It throws a yellow error in the material instance, but still works in the viewport, but might throw that error. I haven´t noticed that behaviour in 5.4, so they must have changed something, which makes me hope there is a simple console variable fix to this, rather than having to try and fix all these warnings, which isn´t always possible. I really wish the texture samplers were "agnostic" to the type of texture you plug in...

Yeah, such a massive piece of software is definitely gonna bug out sometimes 😭 before this, I never thought about checking my logs but sending that into the epic team always does help. Always submit crash reports with comments hahah. As for your Shader, mind if I ask what it is and what fixed it? Just curious

@@JonJagsNee Oh, I´m working on a massive-hyper-all-options-you-could- possible-ever-need-3-layer-blend-cinematic material....:) At some point I´ll maybe release it, its my second go at it and its a lot more polished and neatly sorted now... I just checked again, yellow errors do NOT cause the shader compilation, only red ones.
