This was a very informative conversation outlining the challenges facing A.I. implementation. At the 17:46 mark, Simon comments that it's very easy to replace people for basically free. I am Simon's proud father and a practising dispensing optician. I manually fill out insurance claims in an Excel spreadsheet to send to my client's insurance company and would welcome any AI that could replace me in the tedious and repetitive process of filling out spreadsheets. I take a picture of each client's insurance card with my Android phone and upload it to my point of sale program, same thing for client eyeglass prescriptions which are basically just numbers. Using my Pixel phone, Google Lens can retrieve text from any picture, including insurance cards and prescriptions. I wonder if a simple AI program could grab the needed information from a picture or scan of the insurance card and prescriptions and using optical character recognition populate an Excel sheet? Insurance data should be easy to retrieve because the information is always in the same location on the insurance cards and spreadsheets. Can anyone on UX Army direct me to a simple inexpensive AI solution to automate this repetitive activity?
