Could never understand why the Yankees didn’t keep bunting on Schilling in game six. As a Red Sox fan I think it was a gift.

Hot take: Ortiz from this series alone is a Hall of Famer. Never mind his twenty year career of mostly excellence.

Im so grateful I got to see ‘ The Idiots’ play at Fenway this year… and I live in Louisville, KY …. My friend Scott had an extra ticket and said ypu wanna fly to Boston and see the Sox at Fenway .. i said “ whatta stupid question” lol The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory. People say ‘ O’ Hearn … got the luck of the Irish? And i say ‘ yea’ luck goes both ways” this series was a dream .. i can die a happy man!

If the Yankees had one this series, which, as a Red Sox fan, I am grateful they didn't, Matsui would've been the MVP of the series for sure.

As a male opera singer, I'm always curious how a voice changes after adulthood. This is an interesting video, as Buck was just 27 in 1996, and he sounds young too. His pitch seems to drop to its lowest around 2008-2009, where he would've been 39/40 -- that's pretty typical. Buck's voice thins out quite a bit in the following decade, but I wonder how much of that is attributed to his hair plug crisis in 2011.

Ortiz’s launch over the green monster is unbelievable. Not just the height, or the distance, it’s the speed in which it got there. That ish’ went from his bat to 6 stories up in milliseconds, just absurd power.

I was a freshman in highschool during this World Series. It was unmistakably one of the best moments in Northeastern (I live in Maine, and we are all Sox fans, as we have no team) sports history, easily. People in Massachusetts h a t e the Yankees, and were tired of losing to them every single f*cking year. The stolen base, then the grounder to tie the game, just chills….then Ortiz coming in clutch as usual.

I can’t believe this was 20 years ago!! I was in my early 20s and loved the Sox(I’m from NY),hearing my friends with the “NINETEEN-EIGHTEEN” over and over, after the Boone HR off Wake(RIP)in ‘03.This was a nice reprieve, and after the first 3 losses..Just thrilling.Best comeback in sports history. Then swept the Cards in the WS.

What if something like this happened in the World Series? I think the only franchise that could pull it off is the Seattle Mariners. It's no more unlikely than winning 116 games in a season.

This is pretty sad, at the beginning the World Series is one of the events of the year and the intros are like pieces of history, by the end baseball is a regional sport irrelevant on a national level…
