Great video. I’m going thru this issue this week. One day together and we’ve got problems. My horse got very agitated so it will be a long process of getting them used to riding away from each other Thanks

Stop being esoteric! This is dangerous stuff and can kill someone. A horse kicks or bites, immediately make that horse think you will kill it. You have 3 seconds and NO assault on its head. Get it, make it intense and get out. You are too unnecessarily wordy. Be clear, like when you work with horses.

Good for you! Taking advantage of the educational opportunity. Traditional Western once understood and practiced will help in ones development in their Horsemanship journey regardless of discipline pursuit. Thanks for Video

Ben: i am 80, still working and starting young horses and have been in the saddle for 65 years. Your explanation of “wet saddle blankets” was exceptionally well articulated and spot on. You, like many folks may disagree with the following, but differences make for better understanding. I do not teach much horsemanship anymore. I just do not have the patience to wade through all the nonsense urbanites bring into the corral. I was privileged to get my start out on the Great Basin with true, old time Vaqueros that did not forefoot young horses or teach them to fear the spur. Ed Connell helped me as a teenager along with other great old school horsemen and as I matured, I came to t(e conclusion that true horsemen are born, not made. You phrased it as being a student of the horse, not just an owner. It was good to,hear a younger horseman speak so well regarding our relationship with what the Creator gave us as one of His greatest gifts to an undeserving species. Storm Rough Country Horses

Thank you! #1, you started with a horse who was actually already anxious, which is much more realistic. #2 you validated everything we are doing and reminded me that horse cannot get relief with his buddy, only away from him. I am very, very fortunate to have a very experienced trainer and I trust her implicitly. Which brings me to another point ... how come all the videos I find on this subject are men? Where are the women trainers?

Break em, round pen em, sack em out, your the boss, make em move, make em do what you want. Those are the things many of us heard growing up with horses. Never worked out too well. 😅

I have mules and they tend to be really heavy in the front. I see them stand up like a human and spin out away when my horse says go....but I've yet to tap into it. Still working on it. I'm a friend of ty Evan's so I've seen it happen under saddle too.😆
