Thank you so much for the Green Whole Moong Dal Recipe! I really appreciate it. I was waiting for this recipe. I am going to cook it this weekend. I cooked Green Moong previously totally wrong. I used to cook all the Dals the same way with same seasonings. After following your recipes, now I am becoming somewhat an expert on Dal cooking. Thanks again!❤

Great, I am glad to hear that. All daals have different textures and flavors so plus you don't get bored eating Daal everyday

Thank you for all the Dal recipes you have posted. Now I have 3 types of Dals in my refrigerator - Moong Dal, Toor Dal, & Green Moong Dal - all cooked according to your recipes & guidance. I wanted to ask this from you earlier, but hesitated because it is not watery like your other Dal recipes. Finally I decided to ask now anyway. It is Black Chickpeas. I buy this at Indian Restaurants. They call it Kala Chana. It is very delicious. I tried this several times at home in the past, but couldn't get it right. This dal is cooked at the restaurant somewhat dry (not watery). But very tasty. I buy this at the restaurant, bring home and eat with rice. If you have a recipe for this, please let me know. Regardless, thank you for your other recipes. I recently prepared your Falling Off The Bone Chicken Recipe. It also came out delicious! Thanks again.

Actually I have not been making black chickpeas for a long time. I love them specially how my mom make them. I have been thinking about making black chickpeas but as you know we can only eat so much. Your comment was just I needed to inspire myself to cook kala chana which is love and very healthy. Not everyone in the family love them so I have been mostly making salad with them. I’ll surely share two recipes soon with Kala Chana and thanks for being such a loyal viewer. 😃

@@citrusaroma5469 Thank you for your reply. I know you have other recipes on your mind to publish in the future. I am not in a rush. Publish if and when you can. I am going through other recipes in your channel and and started cooking other dishes. Now I have two Dal dishes in my fridge at all times, rotating them. Thanks to you! ❤

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I requested this recipe from you five days ago. I really appreciate your effort to post it so soon. I am going to prepare the dish today. I have one more question. Is there any modifications I need to do for Green Moong (not split). Thanks again❤❤
@citrusaroma5469Ай бұрын
Thank you! The green moong with skin is very nutritious but the cooking process will be a lot different. That requires soaking at least 4-6 hours plus it has thick green skin so in order to mellow down the strong taste we need to add some garlic in the tadka. Please don’t add any vegetables in that because it’s already high in fibre because of its skin. Rest should be fine and I might post the green one soon because that is one of my favourite daal. I mostly grind it and make chilla with them 😃
@shawndesilva232Ай бұрын
@@citrusaroma5469 Thank you so much again for the additional information. Today I am cooking split Moong Dal with vegetables as in the recipe. I will cook Green Moong once you post that recipe. ❤❤

@@citrusaroma5469I made this dish today. I had to go and buy red pepper, raisins, and paneer. It was fully worth. It turned out so delicious. I also added some tofu cubes and baby spinach leaves I had at home. They all came together nicely. I have some Toor Dal at home. I am wondering whether I can use the same recipe because they look similar. Thanks again for your recipes!
@citrusaroma5469Ай бұрын
I am glad you like it. Yes Raisins and red or green peppers just a tiny bit will be game changer and if possible to replace tofu with paneer. ☺️ For Toor Daal use the Channa Daal seasoning. Toor daal goes very good with garlic, tomatoes and hing.

Thank you for this recipe! Nearly every video uses pressure cooker ❤
@citrusaroma5469Ай бұрын
Yes, this takes longer to cook but an overnight soak can do the job faster plus it tastes much better to boil in a pan instead of pressure cooker 😃
@shawndesilva232Ай бұрын
Can I use the same procedure for Moong Dal? Thanks
@citrusaroma5469Ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely. I never boil moong daal in pressure cooker but you might want to change the recipe a little bit. Like the tadka for moong daal. If you want I can share a recipe for moong daal soon 😃

@citrusaroma5469Ай бұрын
I actually didn’t add any masala to it. I fried the onion tomatoes in the same pan before which I blended smooth. There was leftover on the pan. First I added some butter then paneer and some dry fenugreek leaves just to add some flavour to the paneer
@christinamahan5429Ай бұрын
