Thanks for sharing! I am dealing with a 4 Cly Toyota Camry with stripped out threads on the block. All of the forums always suggest Heli Coils wont work and that they come out and that you have to use Expensive TimeSerts. But then I have read some threads from old school DIY'ers that say if done correctly they will work. Some say a little bit of lock tight on the threads of the helicoil. Good job!

After breaking off that second tang, did you go back in and further thread in the helicoil, or left it as is?

After running the Honda/Acura OBD relearn procedure with an Autel TS508 (or the TS501), it is straightforward. The one thing I hate about their relearn procedure is the driving part. On clear roads, it's no problem, but come at the start of Easter weekend, the amount of traffic in a city street is a total nuisance. Especially when you need at least 40 seconds to get it done.

I'm so glad I found this video because I had to repair the same engine block thread with my 1991 Acura Integra. Lucky for me, my car's head bolts were M11 x 1.5, so I just accessed your link for the needed tools and followed your procedure, stacking 2 helicoils together. It worked! Thanks for posting!
