*Most people agree that the May-December relationship was just not believable or that there was no romantic chemistry.* She's 57 and He's 34 Both Katherine and Owen could have been fully developed characters dealing with their own struggles, but the movie wanted to deliver on the romance and it somehow forced the two characters together. I would've appreciated a connection that wasn't sexual, but instead a depth of feeling that would propel both characters onto the path they needed. I feel the romantic aspect actually ruined the story. *Act 1 ( The Audacity)* The movie introduces us to Lily (Book writer) and her boyfriend Owen ( finance manager). Two people on a retreat and then the movie acts like they have never ever been on a vacation together with all the claptrap we see between them. Owen claims he came to support her and she even dedicated her book to him!!!!!! But throughout the whole thing Owen was just complaining and sulking half the time while being unsupportive of his Lily's talent and success...but rather than him make an effort he just avoided his problems by flirting with Katherine. *Act 2 ( The Cop-Out & Comparison)* This part is about making Lily look bad and Katherine looks normal so we feel better about Own leaving one and getting with the other. It doesn't work because of how obvious it is. On days 1 & 2 she goes with the group on a trip for writing stuff (Not bad, very understandable) A silly fight over charades makes her look wicked and him a wounded dog (Almost like she doesn't know him enough to understand his lack of literary knowledge) There's a part where Owen gets food poisoned and he can't accompany her on the desert trip but the movie makes her dumb and complain about this like she didn't know that's what happened. The movie tries to give her a drug problem as Owen is disappointed that Lily has been using alcohol and hashish with the other writers but later on in the movie this jerk is getting drunk and caressing the older women he's been hanging out with any chance he had. The final nail to their relationship is the movie makes Lily cheat on him with the last person she would in real life (what kind of name Rafih) And the way this is found out is total MacGuffin! The worst part is the moment he finds out she cheated on him, that night he books a room for the night to fill Katherine out like an application (He didn't even grief over the relationship for one day and Katherine didn't even have a second thought about hooking up with a man who just got out of a relationship). *Act 3 (Wet flannel)* How hard they fall for each other is.................. Well, you really wanted to like this more but It felt like Eat, Pray, Love but without any of the chemistry between the leads. The ending wasn't believable either - it didn't build or feel plausible they hardly deserved it and it was like "Let's just put them together because movies gotta have a happy ending".

This movie was cute, I liked the concept, it reminded me of a cross between "If You Believe" and "The Kid." The young actress playing Junebug was adorable, and not annoying.

*'Three Thousand Years of Longing' doesn't realize its "romantic" fantasy is a horror story.* [A] slightly unhinged piece of classic storytelling - and while it is visually luscious and bursting with (narrative) calories, it did not seem to make up its mind, to its very end, which genre, and indeed audience age-group, it actually belongs to. One of the biggest stinkers in this movie is that 90% of the wishes are stupid or wasted. First thing first, The rules to wish making (which threw me for a loop) Rule layout: You get three wishes. The three wishes must be of your truest heart's desire. Rule 1: No wishing for more wishes. Rule 2: No wishing for immortality. Rule 3: No wishing for an end to sin (or suffering). *What are the universal rules of Genie wishes?* *You can SKIP this part if you want* It was the 3rd rule that got me thinking because most of us only know of the wishes granting rules from Aladdin. Wish-granting rules often vary depending on the context in which they are presented, such as in folklore, literature, or entertainment But maybe one or two is always, always the same. That would be rule number one. People unanimously agree on this one. Rule number two-well, it's the first time I've heard or seen this restriction. Mostly, someone would use the Rule of "You cannot affect free will." As in, you can’t make a person feel a certain way with a wish. Also, you can’t make someone fall in love with you. But of course, because of the movie, they obviously could have that rule. Another popular rule is the Rule of "No creating or ending life." Typically, the wish-granting being cannot create or end life. They might give you the means to do it yourself, but the wish itself cannot be for someone to die or for life to be created/recreated (raising the dead). *Now let's talk about the characters and the botch-up wishes these knuckleheads made!* *Queen of Sheba* This may be the first story but no wishes from the Djinn. Instead, we are just told that the Djinn's kin and lover is Sheba. The wishes are from King Solomon's point of view. (Remember how earlier I said 90% of the wishes are stupid or wasted, well King Solomon is not in that percentage. Was the king manipulative, cruel, dark, dangerous, and petty......well yes but he drew on evil spirits and dark wishes and got what he wanted with no hiccups. *Gülten, the concubine* Although the narrator calls her a slave. This girl is dumb! The first wish is as said, to make the Handsome Prince Mustafa fall in love with her. Okay not a bad wish from a selfish slave point of view but it was not wasteful is the point. Now the second wish is! I believe the video skips over what her second wish was or at least it isn't made clear. Her second wish is to become pregnant with Mustafa's baby. The problem is the movie doesn't tell us if she has problems with conceiving a child. Is she barren or is there a law stopping concubines/slaves from getting knocked up? That's why it's a dumb wish. She already mind-controls the guy to feel total affection for her. Why waste the second wish on something you can do naturally on your own!?!? Now the third wish (Which didn't happen). Imagine you have a powerful Djinn at your side who has been giving you whatever your hearts desire and your first act on going to see the Prince or help him was to do it on your own. The movie could have done that part so much better instead of making her hysterical to the point of not using magical wish powers. 2 wishes wasted on dum-dum decisions. *Sugar Lump, overweight concubine* I applaud Sugar Lump😂 She saw a tall dark pointy-ear demon-looking man appear out of nowhere desperately barking at her to make the third wish and she wish his magical behind to the bottom of the Bosporus. Bravo BRAVO! That's how normal people react to the unknown *Zefir, the young wife of a Turkish merchant.* HOW IS IT THAT the smartest of people are usually the worst at solving their own problems......HOW!? She's a brilliant skilled artist but no one sought her out. So her first wish is for all-reaching knowledge. The wish is a great one, the problem I have with this one is how the Djinn grants it. He schools her in poetry and math and recounts his worldwide travels. He brings her books and congeals them into colored bottles, forming a glass menagerie of wisdom at her fingertips. Most of all his wishes are magically granting things but this one he has to teach her of said things. Seems odd that way...........but never mind. Here comes the super dumb part. Through all the time she spent with the Djinn (HE falls for her) they have this twisted affair going on between a mortal and a being MADE OUT OF ELECTROMAGNETISM!!!! Low and behold she gets impregnated by this Djinn with electromagnetic physiology (Don't ask how or what happened to the baby or whether it was half human or half demon or if it can grant wishes as well because we don't get to find that out) Now whether she made her second wish before or after this doesn't matter (Again, I believe the video skips over what her second wish was or at least it isn't made clear at all) Which is to see the world as the djinn does. The wish is lame. Yeah, she values knowledge and wants to know everything but the problem I have with the wish is that there was something vastly more important. HER FREEDOM!! She's been sold off to a dusty old dude with many wives in which she is unhappy of such a lifestyle where grandfather time crawls his disgusting old man butt cheeks up to her room whenever he wants and Plays hide the sausage. Her second wish doesn't even make her sympathetic to the Djinn in any way nor does it give her any cool powers. Because Djinny boy can’t bear the thought of losing her, so with bitter irony he keeps her from wishing a third time. She feels increasingly trapped by his unwillingness to let her make a third wish, which would end their bond and she knows that (Which is more proof that this love affair was definitely one-sided) So in her uneasiness of her losing her mind because she can't figure out how to stop old man from rear-ending her and can't figure out how to be with a magical being she blurts out her super dum-dum third wish.....which is to forget she ever met the djinn. I want to point out that it doesn't solve her problems by the way. 2 perfectly good wishes were wasted because she wasn't smart enough to wish herself out of this terrible lifestyle and instead wanted Djinn's sight, how foolish and pickled brain can a person be. *Alithea* The Djinn explains his entire history to Alithea with his attempts to comprehend human behavior She also tries to understand feelings since her brain isn't wired like everyone else's I guess. The movie had her seeing demonic creatures and strange events but never explained to us what that was about. Now............. The 2nd half of the movie felt rushed, cobbled together, and shoehorned with a racist neighbor for no reason. I mean shame on me for trying to find logic in a movie about a genie, but the genie is electromagnetic and gets sick living in the city because of cell towers and satellite transmissions? Are you kidding me with that last-minute add-on!? And COME ON! Why never mention her dead kid again? Seemed like a plot thread was hinted at, and then abandoned. That could have made this movie into something worthwhile. I mean why have a plot about a self-sufficient woman who is content with her life, YET can't even think of a deep desire to make a wish, then she hears the final story of Djinn Doing the "horizontal tango", and she immediately knows what her life is missing🤨Ridiculous!! The first wish is to dive into lustful sin i.e. He Parked his Yacht in her Harbor. The second wish is to get the Djinn to speak to her so she can apologize for denying them the chance to fall in love naturally. (I feel like this was kind of wasteful especially when the Djinn can come and go as he pleases but I guess she didn't know that at the time). The third wish free the Djinn to return to "The Realm of Djinn". Now I know this wish was a big massively large dopy waste of a wish. Throughout the whole movie, this man been saying once you make three wishes he is set free. Djinn been trying to get back home for the longest time. (I can't figure out why he didn't go home after Zefir made all her wishes..............) Why would Alithea make a wish that does the exact thing that would happen when you make the third wish!?!?!? She could have wished for car insurance and the same thing would have happened, the Djinn being set free and returning home So I'm also giving her 2 wasted wishes. *Leftover questions* Where did the ifrits go? She kept seeing them and then they never appeared again? They aren't djinn and are like a bad omen? And the movie says this man here 4:27 is a different Djinn but whatever happened to him because it feels like this is him living it up in modern times, right? Is this the same guy here 8:28?

This is Imtiaz Ali Indian Hindi film Highway. And this is not any Stockholm syndrome, this is a story where a kidnaper's (a complete stranger) making her hostage, felt safer to her as he though kidnapped her, but protected her from being assaulted on the way to the whole journey of being kidnapped rather the girl realises though she was from a well to do family , being with his parents , cousins, she was sexually assaulted by a family friend, which was covered up by her mother because of getting "ashamed" in their society when she revealed it to her.

this movie is fake asf tho. Lady Elizabeth in real history was the real heiress of £40,000, she was loved by her father who deemed her mother as his one true love, her mother was also a rich heiress a german Imperial countess, her father later would bring her out to royal balls and Queen Charlotte's birthday (Dido was not invited). she married Earl of Winchilsea worth £20,000 a year and more inheritance to come. Dido in real history was broke, not acknowledged by her father who died when she was 27 and he left her Nothing not a single penny, instead giving money to his 2 other illegitimate children whom he acknowledged as his child, Dido married a poor servant at 32, then she died at 43 and Daviniér remarried

Nice recap, however some of the information doesn’t match up with the movie. He returns to San Francisco, not Florida. Plus this clip has been inverted from its original (backwards placement). Keanu’s eye brow scar is atop his left brow. Another example of this- bed scene, in original he climbs in on the left side of the bed, not right. It’s all reversed, I know because I’ve watched this movie more times than probably anyone in existence. It’s my favorite! ❤
