I was in a long line of stationary traffic coming out of Silverstone in about 1997 or so. Country lane. Some guy in a Renault Clio was coming down the inside (left) of the line, two wheels in the mudy ditch. He handbraked a 90 degree turn right though a car's width gap in front of me, then another 90 left to go down the outside (oncoming lane). It was Jacques - Gilles son - in his Williams days. It's only moments like that on the real roads with those guys that you see what talent they really have.

Well, i'm sorry KZbin doesn't show anymore the video's date. It has almost 15 years. It was pretty common this kind of motosport/F1 videos back those days. KZbin was not a plataform for professional work. The purpose of the video was not to show raw content. If you were looking for that kind of video you can find it by searching. It is easy.

This video would've been so much more informative if it had included the original commentary. I can just imagine Murray Walker's voice telling us what was going on, and why these overtakes were so impressive.

Well, back then there were a lot of "Overtakes" videos from other drivers; like Senna, Prost, Mansell, Keke Rosberg, and even Rene Arnoux. They were all like that, with some music backgroud. It is supposed to be tematic. I thought: how the F* there is no Gilles overtakes? And then i created this, in Windows Movie maker. It has 12 years, i was 17 years old :D You don't have to take the video too seriously. I've been telling this to a lot of reppliers lately...

It's so messed up with dates. Almost half titles of years are incorrect. For example in 1978 Jody Sheckter drove Wolf not a Ferrari

It is the only date i messed up, it was supposed to be 79. Plus, i did this video when i was 17, with Windows Movie Maker as my tool lol. You don't have to take that serious.

Tre titoli mondiali come Senna,ma è stato sottovalutato. Io personalmente ritengo sia stato più bravo di lui e il sorpasso con sottosterzo propio a Senna è stato epico. Peccato che i figli non siano stati all'altezza,speravo in Pedro,ma si è perso e mi piacerebbe sapere se corre o no
