I am sorry, but I must point out the song itself cries out to atheists.

READ THIS WHOLE THING: PRAY FOR ISRAEL. PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD. WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE YOUR PLACE IN HIS HOUSEHOLD? THEN PLEASE REPENT OF ALL YOUR SINS TODAY AND SURRENDER YOUR ENTIRE LIFE TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. NOBODY IS OUT OF THE CANDIDACY FOR BECOMING A CHRISTIAN.

Though he’s had a wonderful comedy and acting career over the years just seeing some of his face expressions early in this video seems at peace with himself and is enjoying the later part of his life playing music and being totally happy with life

Man, I went to Mr. Martin’s show with Martin Short a few years back and tried to get him to sign my banjo strap, but he scurried off too fast 😢 He’s brought me so much joy!

Loved this, it's really funny and exceptionally well done! Incidentally, if anyone is looking for other incredibly intelligent atheist songs, please enjoy the wonder that is Tim Minchin. Particularly his earlier work, and especially the song 'Thank You God' (although he has MANY which would suit this description). Note, he has two live shows available, the Heritage Orchestra show and 'So Fucking Rock'. If you just want to hear 'Thank You God', it's here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4vIiIOJmNOiotE (Note, this goes directly to Tim Minchin's official KZbin page, so the $$ go to him. You can find all his other stuff there. He's fucking brilliant).

I am an atheist and I feel sorry for delusional people with no skill for reading comprehension, nor an aptitude for critical thinking. I love all the old hymns. Grew up with them. One needn't be superstitious to enjoy any kind of music. I guess you could say I'm guilty of cultural appropriation, but so far, that's not illegal; although I'm sure the Christians will tend to that soon. They love laws that can be used to control and punish people. L'chaim

This song has everything: brilliant writing, composition and arrangement, fantastic performers, continuously escalating murder drama sprinkled with comedy, and a dazzling climax with a twist worthy of M. Night Shyamalan. Steve Martin is so ridiculously multi-talented.

Frankly I have met more atheists with higher moral standards than I have Christians. I compare Buddhism to atheism. Live and let live. Treat others as you want to be treated. Christians seem to think that they can commit sin all week long and go to church on Sunday and pray it away and that's not how it works. You have to be moral at all times you have to be kind and loving at all times. And the atheists I know are raising their kids with high moral standards and a great education
