Awesome story. HH the best. Worst narration ever. Fact.

I was a huge SF fan as teenager and begged, bought, or stole every SF book I could get my hands on. I used to subscribe to Asimov's SF magazine and haunted libraries and used book stores for SF. It's been fun revisiting the stories I have read and hearing the ones I missed. Thanks.

Good story but in at least on second half ads are ONLY about 5 minutes apart 😢
@storiesfromtheskyКүн бұрын
Apologies. This one got through the net - usually I have midroll ads turned off because they're very intrusive mid story. For whatever reason this one had them turned on. I have now rectified that.

Thanks for the comment. You don't need to pay anything to get the same stories. I actually publish 3 stories a week on Substack, which is more than I ever did on KZbin. The only way you have to pay is if you choose the optional paid subscription which gets you some extra bonus content.

Good story. Precursor to HFY Deathworlds in which Earth is portrayed as the Mother of all Deathworlds? Also, 'speakers' precuse 'whisperers'? Thanks, William Skye.

First ten minutes sounds like a dystopian hell hole similar to the "biometric security" + digital currency + "ai" controlled = Police state, that the Elite are currently "power grabbing" for in reality. -Btw if you dont think thats exactly what "Biden/ Trump / Transgender = Christian outrage porn = Psyops have been all about then you failed. Because the Elite are baiting you and using your faith against you in order to Punish You without (due process) or being convicted of any Crime and to remove Civil Rights... Not to mention "bitcoin" is another trap/ psyop and Not freedumb money. Because if we Stop minting Coinage then the price of All Metals will become so Expensive that your Children will never be able to afford a " single family" Home or own a Car ever again....Forever!

@storiesfromthesky8 күн бұрын
I do make a little money from the adverts, as I have now been monetised again. However, it's very unstable as KZbin can (and has) withdraw monetisation status whenever they please.

I was a little disappointed by the ending, which led me to consider how I would terminate the excellent and thought provoking story. Perhaps it is because I fell asleep a few times during the reading, which this insomniac needs. Wow, now I know that I am beginning my social media addiction. I will finish my coffee and cigarettes now. Have a great, pollution free day. Thanks again for the narrations.

The Old goat was published in 1957. The Fly was released in 1958.

Hmm. The short story of The Fly was published in 1957 (in Playboy Magazine no less)... I wonder if there was any connection between the two!

@storiesfromthesky I searched 1956. What could have been published in 56 that might have inspired both stories? I found The Stars My Destination - Alfred Bester. It deals with teleportation as a well-established commonplace technology. I haven't read it. It's in a lot of top 10 lists, often at number one. I have a feeling it might become one of my favorites. My search also came up with Fate magazine. That looks like some interesting gobbledygook! Alfred Bester is next on my list.
