If The Bear didn't get good reviews, then I feel like they've made us watch 3 seasons for nothing. Maybe chef Terry can buy out some of Cicero's stock in the Bear so he doesn't have to shut it all down. Sounds like she just cashed in her chips to retire, so that might be a possibility. Just spitballing, though.

i’m planning on making a debrief vid to talk about my overall view on s3 but yeah, i actually enjoyed it. in comparison to s1 and s2 it’s not as strong of a season but it did well with setting us up for s4 in my opinion. now there’s a lot for us to anticipate which means many people will tune in to see what happens. also referring back to them apparently having to split s3 into 2, it’s noticeable that they had to stretch the plot out. and yeah with chef terry, i definitely was not expecting ever to shut down bc i didn’t think we’d see much more of it after the forks ep but i see they utilized it in a way to display things can abruptly change when it comes to restaurants, businesses or life itself. terry mentioned how she wanted to close down ever so she can live more which is understandable but it would be cool to see more of the employees from her restaurant in s4 :))

this entire season was literally a set up for s4 and i just know it’s gonna be insane in the best way because all our questions are gonna get answered! on top of that we’ll get to see the results of certain decisions and i can’t wait!!!!! things are going to get so messy for them again😭

The guy who plays Tina's husband is actually that actress' husband in real life. If he looks familiar, it's because he used to be on Dexter.

everyone just misses the fact that S1 was plot development, S2 was Character development and now the Bear is complete so know the show is treading towards tying it in a beautiful bow for S4 also Natalie Rose Berzatto must be protected at all times!

yeah i definitely have to finish the season in order to get a better understanding/see the larger picture on the approach they took for this season- then i can have a more solid opinion on s3 and yes i love natalie so much and how her role at the restaurant continues to grow!

lmao😭😭 i was glad i managed to find a couple of things to comment on bc no joke i was taken aback by how little was going on! especially in the children ep, it was predominantly scenes of the faks which yes was funny & entertaining but i wanted progression with the review

Loooved your commentary and hilarious edits! Your point about Carmy not changing his attitude is so on point, bc in S1 Brigade, he and Syd literally talked about how if they were going to make this place different/better than every toxic place they’ve worked in before, then it starts with them changing how they behave and making sure to listen to each other. I noticed at the funeral, the camera focuses on Syd and Carmy when Marcus talks about how he and his mom had to “really listen and pay attention” to each other, and we see Syd paying attention to Carmy’s habit of writing in the margins enough to customize the printed sheets she gives him. But we don’t see a reciprocal close listening from Carmy, and he’s actually defensive with everyone in the restaurant. And I think it’s pretty clear that while Syd wants a star, she wants to earn it a different healthier way, but Carmy keeps kinda gaslighting her about it like “we’re gonna get a star, this is what you wanted right?” When he knows damn well she believes they can do so much better as a kitchen environment while still achieving the excellence required for a star!
@thatsenougherin
@thatsenougherin Ай бұрын
exactly!! because of course they can get the star, everyone in there has amazing potential but the way carm is going about it might make that process far more extensive than need be

I love how they're doing a pre-title-screen intro background montage... and then it keeps going... and it keeps going... and then it turns out that was the entire episode. That's some ballsy and effective TV. Note that Sydney doesn't have a fennel allergy (she made/ate something with fennel back in a previous season). Carmy lied, he was just rebelling against chef David's version and decided to send out his original blood-orange recipe instead for at least one of them. That just happened to be the one that Syd got. Which she said was the best dish she's ever had: Carmy's original version.

that’s legit one of my favorite things about the show is that there’s no title sequence just title card and right into the ep. it feels just like the show itself where it cuts right to the chase!

you and your editing are hilarious! and we would love to see a debrief video if you have more thoughts sorry if I yap a bit I just love this show and have so much to say.. These episodes really are stressful lmao and I just feel so bad for everyone. Carmy is definitely punishing himself by subconsciously trying to recreate his trauma in those restaurants and perfecting everything because as he said in s2e10, that's when he worked best and he feels like he no longer deserves joy. His beef with Richie is just upsetting because they both clearly love each other still but they hurt one another in that argument so now their childish arguments are affecting everyone in that kitchen negatively. Carmy mentioned that Claire was the one who was helping him work out his trauma so he was more chill at work because he had a life outside the kitchen and was happier but now she's gone so he is putting his all into the restaurant to try and perfect it for himself, Mikey and all of them. Richie calling him Donna obviously got to him that's why he got so worked up trying to convince everyone he is not crazy. And at the end of s3ep2 Marcus told him that the non negotiables are not crazy and told him to take them to the star... so now Carmy feels like he has to do all this for Marcus too. I think Carmy is definitely right in throwing out food that's not up to standard but then he should give them more time to practice the new dishes instead of making up new ones every day. He is def making the mistake of thinking everyone is on his level and at the level of his coworkers at his previous workplaces so he thinks that they can handle the changes in menu he is used to. His mental health is basically down in the depths of hell so he is not thinking straight and self-sabotaging like Donna.. causing everyone to be against him. Sydney is trying to keep a level head but it is affecting her too so everythings a hot mess. aaaaa Sorry for writing an essay 😭 looking forward to your reactionsss
@thatsenougherin
@thatsenougherin Ай бұрын
don’t worry i loved ur essay lol!! i totally agree with what ur saying, especially with the claire portion! this season now that we’re witnessing the effects of claire’s missing presence, im able to get a far better understanding of just how much their relationship was truly helping him. carmy is just feeling so much pressure & responsibly for not only the restaurant itself but the people that make it up (including mikey, despite him being gone). so depending on how he manages his emotions he could either utilize it to positively push him forward, getting him to work his best or it’ll get extremely overwhelming & his emotions will get the best of him. and for sure it would be super ideal if everyone was given time to improve and adjust to the new system so they’re prepared and naturally are cooking the dishes in top tier shape. especially since everyone in that kitchen has the guaranteed potential to be elite chefs. overall i just want everybody to be happy 😭
