wow! is this a kind of process you can actually use when you 3dsketch or can you only do that because you're working from reference?
@drugfreedave2 күн бұрын
Same as drawing i suppose, the more you practice from reference the better you become altogether and can do cool things without reference 👍🏾
@renarddubois940Күн бұрын
@@drugfreedave I know but I was talking about your process, it seems very detached from basic sculpting/modelling,
@drugfreedaveКүн бұрын
Do you mean detached from traditional sculpting by hand with clay, or low poly 3D modeling, or 3D modeling with a mouse and keyboard? When I first started sculpting I tried a traditional “sculpting” approach in nomad, but soon realize it’s much easier to use shapes just like I would if I was drawing or sketching. So when I’m doodling in 3d in nomad, I still use shapes just like I would drawing

Goodness, so great. Couple of questions if time permits: - When you ‘draw’ ambient occlusion, do you do it on a separate paint layer on top of the color? And what do you use to smooth it out? Also just ‘smooth’ brush? (Asking because of the color only nature of it) - You mention Udemy, but is it also on Skillshare by the way? Thanks, you have made Nomad sculpt (and digital sculpting as a whole) demystified for me.

hey there Dave!! I love all your videos, and i'm also planning on buying one of your courses in Udemy as I type!! I just wanted to make a request. can you make a video teaching us how to sculpt a character that can later be rigged? in the sense, sculpt them in an 'A' pose, that can later be rigged in blender? Since, the muscles and all that would be different when you sculpt them in that pose? I believe? but anyways, thanks for all the videos you post!! and also, thank you in advance if you end up making such a video 😁

It is a it confusing how you want us to do certain things, then argue with yourself abut how you probably can do it better and I have no idea what part to skip (somewhere around the 20/21th minute) that means that the friendly mouth in my sculpture looks HORRIBLE!

Are there no way to just scale it in place so to say, i always moves o the direction you drag it when scaling. I just want my piece to be resiced from the middle and out.

Absolutely loved the video! I was following along and didn't have my headset on...well my MiL said your voice reminded her of Bob Ross! I do have one question; I am having problems with the sizing. When I have my project facing the front and use the blue part to shrink it say a sphere, it only does it one way and makes it oblong. Is there a setting or something that I need to check so that the sphere stays a sphere when resizing?
@drugfreedave5 күн бұрын
I get the Bob Ross thing often, I love it! 😊 when resizing as in scaling a sphere it should stay the same when you use the larger orange ring around the gizmo.. is that what you mean? 🤔
@JK-fe1vnКүн бұрын
So the orange one allows the 360 degree scaling?

Can you make tutorial on how to create moss in nomad? No one has ever done it yet 😭
@drugfreedave5 күн бұрын
Maybe some sort of moss like texture could work, bit for more realistic moss, you’d have to find some close up images of moss and recreate the plant shapes, then make a million of them! Moss like color and texture would probs be better. Ultimately I’d do that in blender instead to be honest!
@NoveaQi4 күн бұрын
@drugfreedave yes I also thought about using blender too but it's too complicated. Anyways thank you for the tips 🙌🔥

You have the quad remesh in your tool bar on the right and also the tool bar on the top middle. I do not have this on my copy of nomad.. how do i get this tool to appear as you have it. I also checked google play and my copy of nomad is up to date.
