How did you get the robot to turn like that to lift the boat? I get it to lift the motor but it just drops back down. I have it to turn right and it just drops then turns

@@Fred-rn1vm No, although if you look at how long all the transitions were, it was realistically only like a few seconds each. Also, all of that was one program with a couple of, "wait a few seconds" programmed in.

I agree that making a mechanism is not hard to do the angler fish, but you cannot separate the path to the task from the difficulty of the task.

Hi. We love your channel and ideas. We try to build this simple vehicle and the attachment as much the same as we can, turns out cannot finish mission 13. The fat motor at the front was not able to lift the boat holders higher enough to the top, neither can the wheels turning power enough to move the ship line. Cannot post picture or video here😢I feel something wrong unbalanced with the attachment. Kids are 4th graders, parents with no engineering background. Hope you can give some hint on mission 13 with the simple vehicle and attachment. Thank you

So you are right, the robot was not well balanced to do this task. I had to use that same attachment for many tasks, so I could not tailor it to the shipping lanes well. However, my solution was to have a little support a bit in front of the driving wheels that touches the ground when lifting the boat. That allows the robot to stay upright. Hope that helps.

That's good advice. To be clear, teams should solve the easiest missions first before attempting to solve the next harder missions. At the competition table, it may make sense to run some of the harder missions mixed with some of the easier missions due to their proximity to each other and to save time. Many teams only focus on evaluating how hard it is to solve the problem presented by the mission models and miss evaluating how hard it is for their robot to get to and from the mission model. An easy mission model that is too hard to get to, accurately and consistently is still hard to solve.

I think in really just depends on how much time you have. Last year I was a rookie in a not really experienced team and we all thought that we really want to reach the international competitions. I personally think that it’s really important to have a consistent robot that doesn’t fall apart every 2 seconds🙈 I think also that you need to spend a lot of time on programming consistent driving functions. If you don’t drive or turn consistently then your robot game won’t be consistent at all… I was able to reach the WF in Houston last year with this strategy (and some other secret things😉) to be fair I had quite a lot of experience in mindstorms participating for multiple years in WRO but it was the first year of python for all of us. If you have some time and you really want to it is possible to do everything (even as a rookie😉)

TL, DR: bring all the technic you have, and maybe buy a couple more set, just to be sure. Also, you didn't mention plates and bricks with holes: the old building style tended to be more structurally sound than just beam and pins
@FLL-Explained
@FLL-Explained 5 ай бұрын
Ok, I think you are misinterpreting what I said in the video. Although I did say use technic parts you have, I did not say buy a couple sets. I do not recommend buying parts like that because you get a bunch of random parts you probably have no use for. Also the old style plates and bricks with holes are not great for FLL. I have no idea why you find those more structurally sound to be honest.
