@HalfmoonfishingАй бұрын
Portbay can be tough on some days, but i feel like you can catch trout there all the time. And I didnt show in the video, but found 3 different pods of reds in flats about 2ft of water. They were just very skidish and couldnt hook one

So got and 120 pdl and an outback. which one you like better with with the nk180 pro? Thanks. Nice catches.
@HalfmoonfishingАй бұрын
Both great kayaks and I think it really depends on the body of water you are fishing. Personally for me the Outback was a better choice because of the grassy flats that I fish in shallow. I'm using the NK 300 but I'm sure the NK 180 is plenty for those windy days or just trying to get a fishing spot faster
@jokerz60Ай бұрын
@Halfmoonfishing already got the 180 pro mounted on the old town. But gonna switch between kayaks for now until I get another motor.. Or if my son comes out more I'm in East tx.

My advice, from my experience with a 2016 Slayer Propel with the NK300 added. Of course, my rudder is under the kayak (just had to remove my aftermarket Boonedox rudder for the NK300 to be installed after adding a mount plate). As it turns out, the NK300 (even when not powered) provides as good a rudder as one would need when using the Propel drive. I would never mount a powerful motor off-center as you did due to potential power loss. I'm relocating the NK300 soon to my 2018 ATAK (which does not have a rudder). I'm expecting good things there, but hope to add a small 12 volt trolling motor for maneuvering. By the way, Newport stands totally behind their products. They replaced my 36v40ah battery with a new one after 6 months of having capacity issues. The new one seems to work great.
