When people actually do maintenence like replacing the nearly 30 year old glow plugs and the relay they should start just like this without any cosby sauce. 7.3's get a bad rep because of others laziness. Love the truck man

Love these bricknoses, especially the interior. Also what axle ratio is this one running, seems like it's got plenty of overdrive. Getting real tired of my 5.13s and cruising at 3000RPM lol

Dang can’t wait to get money to buy a high pressure fuel injection pump so I can get mine running. Got a crazy deal on my 91 7.3L idi 4x4 with a rebuilt engine and I believe rebuilt trany. For only $1,200 , and bought it with payments! No dents body is straight. Paint is salvageable just needs a clear coat. But needs a $800 high pressure fuel injection pump 😖

How long does it take to start on freezing cold mornings? Does it take longer when it hasn't been used for several days?
@bricknoseford8167

On freezing cold mornings if my batteries are nice and charged it takes a bit longer but will usually fire right up. But if I don’t put my batteries on a charge it cranks slower. I plug in my block heater on freezing cold mornings I live in northern Ontario gets to -30C

@@robinprice4877 no worries man any questions you have I’m Happy to answer, if I do not plug in the block heater and Charge my batteries it will crank take about 3-4 seconds of cranking before firing up. And going up steep incline without or towing a load I really feel no difference to be honest . I have the non waste gated banks turbo, it helps a lot with steep inclines. I keep a close eye on the EGT levels also when going up a hill

@@bricknoseford8167 Thought I saw a Maximum 80 sign! I'm in rural Ontario too. I used to have a 6.9 that would start alright in the cold as long as I drove it every day, but if it sat for more than about 16 hours it would be a total pig to get going again, even plugged in.

Those were good motors. Used to run a 87? as a company truck. Thought nothing of getting in it and going on a 500 mile delivery route.... several times a week! It had 350k on her last I drove it and I saw it on the road for years after I was gone. My brothers neighbor ended up buying it and he ran it for who knows how long! I have the 6.0 now. It's been bulletproofed. It's pretty good and lots of power but I know it won't make it to even 200k without a catastrophic breakdown

Excellent motors, I daily drive this truck and with 290k on the odometer It’s still got a lot of life left in it. Once you take care of any air intrusion and the GP and GPR plus a good set of batteries your good to go. I’ll drive this truck across Canada any day
