Everything was alright until the end of part 1. But as soon as started part 2, he got nervous and messed up, fluency dropped... And pressure to improve in part 3 could be seen clearly!! I think i did the same in my exam too🥲
@IELTSInsider3 күн бұрын
I think this is a common situation for many test takers. Parts 2 and 3 require a lot more depth of thinking, and sometimes people het muddled up and forget what they are talking about. This problem can usually be overcome with more test practice.

I was much more fluent and had better lexical, yet i got 7.5

There are no half marks in individual marking criteria. Also he mostly didn't pay attention to tense in the question while answering. It's not authentic.

the examiner really supports to her, it is good to know how band 7.0 is.
@Talent-inspiration9 күн бұрын
i have never seen speaking test who has half band score this is not possible. speaking test is not like reading and listening and it only have a complete band and half band comes when a person gets like 6, 6, 7, 7 that is 6.5.

Great job from the candidate! Well done! As for the scores - half marks aren't awarded for the individual criteria. 8.0 seems about right, though, overall. The post-test chat is also a really nice touch 😊

is it possible to give a half band for a speaking criterion. for example 6.5 for lexical resource?
@IELTSInsider3 күн бұрын
No, it is not. We have used half point scores in this series of videos to give a true reflection of the test taker's performance, but I think we will go back to awarding full point scores as we have had a few comments about this, and it would make the scores more realistic.

Why bangladesh is getting less band in speaking with good fluency
@IELTSInsider20 күн бұрын
Fluency is just one of the 4 components that are graded in the test. The other 3 are: Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and Grammar. Therefore, someone can speak fluently, but still not achieve a high score because the other elements are not so good.

Yes, there are some grammatical errors, and issues with fluency and vocabulary use. These are the main reasons for her score of 5.5.
