Will a 2wd truck with aired down tires be ok here?
@sellickusa3 жыл бұрын
Nope, you need a legit 4x4 to make it out there. If you attempt it, have a credit card or cash ready......its not cheap to get hauled off the beach.
@Gevea113 жыл бұрын
You can make it the whole way with 2wd and tires aired down to 15-20 psi. You WILL get stuck if you try to drive through deeper sand. Have a tow strap on hand and there's plenty of people out there who should be willing to drag you out.
@JAK3THETUB33 жыл бұрын
You have to have experience driving in the sand. The beach has been exceptionally bad this year due to all the traffic and people not airing down. Full of washboards. Also, the lack of rain this year doesn’t help. Lots of sugar sand.

@BlueScapegoat4 жыл бұрын
@@abdubitar960 It's the kit from boosted tech, which is an Eaton M90 with machined adapters. It's running a piggyback Splitsecond fuel/timing computer at the moment, and I don't totally trust it. It acts up sometimes. I've got a 2bar map sensor from an srt4 and bigger injectors I'm going to install and tune the factory PCM to eliminate the piggyback very soon. Overall it runs well, but I have done a lot of editing the stock tune using HPTuners
@abdubitar9604 жыл бұрын
BlueScapegoat I appreciate the response .
@BlueScapegoat4 жыл бұрын
@@abdubitar960 Sorry it took so long, I don't check youtube often. As long as you keep your boost under 7 psi or so, you shouldn't have reliability problems. I retard timing by 1 degree per psi but I think you could do less and be safe. Important part is keeping the mixture rich when you're in boost. Of course, run high octane as well. It doesn't make it a fast Jeep, but it makes it a much better vehicle to drive. Huge difference!
@BlueScapegoat4 жыл бұрын
@@abdubitar960 Jeep had about 80,000 miles when I installed it. I've put maybe 5,000 on it since then. Just changed the supercharger oil and it was good. Changed the engine oil and cut open the filter and it was good as well

As for the fences I dont dout that. Also there is a small finger canal just south of the va. Beach. Limit. Also you will have to pass some other things that will cause some delays.

BlueScapegoat do you still have your Jeep? I'm just curious how it has held up with that setup. I purchased a 2006 TJ with the exact same setup...even down to the tires :) I'm upgrading the steering/tie rod this weekend, but I just want to ensure I'm not going to burn my transmission up with the 33's. I don't ever use 6th gear, and it isn't a daily driver. Haven't done any heavy offroading yet, just more concerned with not burning it up. Let me know man.

you will be just fine, let the air out of your tires to about 15-20lbs , also if you do get stuck , stop , put your truck in reverse and 9/10 times you can back rite out of it, also the sugary sand next to the dunes can be a little dicey at times. The last time we went i had a 2015 jeep patriot which really isnt 4x4 and i was fine. also one other tip is to not punch the gas at all or you will sink. search youtube for twiddy & co , they have an entire playlist about driving on that beach it was very helpful
