As soon as you see a drummer wasting time with that weird stick finger twist thing you know you're in trouble.

I was kinda chuckling about you holding your left stick backwards, until I tried it when I knew there were a lot of rim hits.

Its great watching these videos however individualism is missing. During my short time in the early 70s as a drummer this was one of our staples however both myself and lead guitar put our own spin on it. I used less of the high hat/snare and featured mostly on small tom/snare for a throatier beat, during the lead section I muted to give more emphasis on lead guitar rather than the beat. The lead guitarist actually allowed the rhythm guitarist to take the first part of the solo before coming in with the main part. We seemed to gell more as a band sharing.

is this accurate to the studio version?
@RhythmhouseSg6 ай бұрын
@@leedahye25 it’s as accurate as I could make it with my hands & ears. There may be a mistake or two, but i think it’s pretty close.

Absolutely perfect. The full album version and not the edited single. I learned it as a play along cover, then played it in a covers band. Great job. A joy to watch and think along. All those great transitions 😁

went to add insignificant and random fills where they don't belong but didn't do the actual fills when they were supposed to occur. I hate it when drummers deviate from the song doing their own fills. it does not make justice for the songs. nice try though.
@RhythmhouseSg4 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. I'm actually following a score from the Trinity Rock & Pop drum syllabus to demonstrate the song for students taking the exam. The arrangement of the song and fills are as designated by the exam board... will have to go check out the original and see where it deviates.

I’ve been drumming for many years and never heard of these cymbals. How did you find out about them?
@RhythmhouseSg9 ай бұрын
@@hd4100 I used to read Rhythm magazine (UK) and they would feature reviews of all the latest gear... but it just so happened that a few years ago music shop near me had a sale and was selling a load of Stagg cymbals really cheaply. I thought they sounded alright for the discounted price so I picked some up.
