Thank you for this very informative lecture. If I understand you correctly, the Pharisees in the Second Temple period were merely temple guardians on behalf of the Exilarchs? In post Babylonian 'captivity', were the Exilarchs able to exert their influence on Alexander the Great and his Diadochi? Along the Silk Road? Into Europe and Arabia/Africa?

Those who din not comply were killed.During these days thousands of Jews were welcome in areas controlled by Muslims. One jew became Prime Minister of Fatimid Caliphate in north Africa . Before expulsion from Spain Jews used fo live in Cordova city capital of Muslim governed Spain. now that I came across this video I remember suddenly that an uncle from the spanish part of my parents once held that our family is at least partly jewish, thus shoking the whole family, therfore he was referred to as the crazy uncle, now if I am partly jewish I am proud of it, although I still condemn deeply what Israel is doing in Gaza nowadays, but that is another story
